The Kentucky Center presents The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis

The world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) is a 15-piece musical group consisting of some of the best ensemble players, soloists and arrangers in jazz music, and led by famed trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis. Their show contains a wide variety of musical works, including original and historic compositions, Jazz at Lincoln Center-commissioned pieces and masterworks from celebrated musicians such as Duke Ellington, Mary Lou Williams and Charles Mingus.

American Composers Orchestra Announces 2017-2018 Season - DREAMSCAPES

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces its complete 2017-2018 season, Dreamscapes, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, featuring ten world, U.S., and New York premieres by a diverse set of composers. ACO continues its concerts at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall (December 8, 2017 and April 6, 2018) while expanding its presence in New York to include performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center (November 7, 2017) and as part of the 2018 PROTOTYPE Festival (January 12-14, 2018). ACO continues to take its commitment to fostering new work beyond the stage in its annual Underwood New Music Readings (June 21 and 22, 2018) for emerging composers, now in its 27th year, and through EarShot, the National Orchestra Composition Discovery Network, which brings the Readings experience to orchestras across the country.

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival 2017 Announces Opening Lineup

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival , one of New York's premier summer performance series, kicks off its 51st season on July 25. Among the highlights in the first two weeks are a special opening concert led by Louis Langrée, Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director, featuring traditional and indigenous songs from Mozart's time; a choral presentation by Les Arts Florissants; and guest conductors Edward Gardner and Gianandrea Noseda; festival debuts by more than 10 artists, including Kit Armstrong, Janai Brugger, Jennifer Johnson Cano, S? Percussion, Beatrice Rana, Ksenija Sidorova, and the Young People's Chorus of New York City; and the New York premiere of David Lang's concerto for percussion, man made. Applications Now Open for BMI's Jazz Composers Workshop.

Broadcast Music, Inc.  (BMI), the global leader in music rights management, is now accepting applications for its 30th annual BMI Jazz Composers Workshop. The application deadline is Tuesday, August 15th, and is now available on bmi.com. This prestigious workshop runs from September 2017 through May 2018 and meets weekly at BMI's headquarters in New York City.
