Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund Recipients Announced

The Tribeca Film Institute (TFI) and Gucci today announced the 2012 recipients selected for the Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund. The Fund, now in its fifth year, provides finishing finances, year-round support and guidance to domestic and international documentary filmmakers with feature-length films highlighting and humanizing issues of social importance from around the world. Eight projects have been selected from a record 697 submissions from 56 countries to receive a total of $150,000, to be administered by the Tribeca Film Institute.

CTV Orders New Drama Series MOTIVE

CTV announced today that it has ordered the procedural drama series MOTIVE (working title) from award-winning, Vancouver-based Foundation Features and Lark Productions. Thirteen episodes of the one-hour drama have been ordered. MOTIVE follows a feisty female Vancouver homicide detective who matches wits with killers in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game. As she pieces together the clues of the murder, viewers are drawn inside the minds of the culprits. Daniel Cerone (THE MENTALIST, DEXTER) executive produces.

Alex Ko, who shared the title role of "Billy" in the Billy Elliot the Musical on Broadway will be attending the gala performance of Billy Elliot The Musical to mark seven years and 3,000 performances in the West End. The evening will be a star-studded event with attendance by Elton John, Stephen Daldry, and Laurence Olivier Award winner, Liam Mower, one of the three boys who shared the lead role in the original London cast of Billy Elliot the Musical.
