Lifetime has ordered the two-hour biopic Britney (working title), detailing the tumultuous story of pop icon Britney Spears' rise to fame, fall from grace and eventual triumphant resurrection, firmly securing her position as one of the world's greatest entertainers. Production begins this September in Vancouver for a 2017 premiere on Lifetime.

CMT today revealed the premiere dates for its 2017 scripted series including "Nashville," "Million Dollar Quartet" (working title) and "Still The King," marking the biggest scripted slate in the network's history.

This week, The New York Post reported on a recent reading of the upcoming new musical from legendary musical theatre composer, Stephen Sondheim.

The producers of the multi award-winning smash hit Billy Elliot the Musical are delighted to announce that the four boys who will play the title role in the first ever UK and Ireland tour of the iconic musical are Adam Abbou (12 years old from Liverpool), Matthew Lyons (11 years old from Leeds), Haydn May (11 years old from Bath) and Lewis Smallman (12 years old from West Bromwich).

Gurney's Sylvia, directed by Stephanie A. Coltrin; direct from Off-Broadway, The Other Mozart written by and starring Silvia Milo and directed by Isaac Byrne, about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's equally remarkable sister Nannerl; Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, Frank McGuinness' riveting tale based on a true story about three hostages held in Beirut in1986, directed by Katharine Farmer; and King Lear by William Shakespeare, directed by James O'Neil.

SHOWTIME has ordered a new half-hour comedy project entitled MATING (working title), executive produced by Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood), and written and executive produced by Stu Zicherman (The Affair, The Americans).

Theatre company Milk Presents has been announced as the first recipient of Camden People's Theatre's Home Run commission, for their new show BODIY (working title). The award will see the company supported with a £5,000 cash commission and free rehearsal space, as well as artistic, fundraising, marketing and business planning support, to develop their work-in-progress to a three-week run of a fully realised production in Autumn 2017.
