Macha Monkey Productions presents the world premiere comedy ...And Starring Claire from Hollywood by Jim Moran. Directed by Amy Poisson, the show features Lisa Every as Claire, Laurence Hughes as Leo, Sean Schroeder as Brad, Emily Haver as Jana, and Stacey Bush as Kandi. The production runs May 5th through June 3rd at 18th & Union in the Central District.
SRO Theatre Company to Produce Documentary to Chronicle Life of Johnnie Schmidt

SRO Theatre Company is proud to announce its plans to produce a documentary film on John Schmidt, a 95-year-old former member of the company whose life experiences include performing on Broadway, pole vaulting at OSU, WWII, frequent appearances on WOSU radio and television, being inducted into the OSU Sports Hall of Fame, and managing his Schmidt family tree farm in Bainbridge, Ohio. SRO is using the crowd-funding platform GoFundMe to finance My Name is Johnnie Schmidt, the working title of the project, which will include a wealth of information on John's life based on interviews with the still-vibrant senior and Upper Arlington native, as well as rarely-seen footage and photos of his notable life and career. Our goal is to premiere the finished work in the fall.

Today, Leah Jade, an empowered survivor of chronic childhood abuse and devastating family related illegal drug fuelled dysfunction and tragedy upon tragedy, has confirmed that a moment of vulnerability on Facebook has had a dramatic effect. She chose to unveil a deep litany of personal hurt in her life that has managed to touch the hearts of thousands of people organically and instantaneously attracted the attention of several publications including the people behind two new books. The post was entitled, 'What Losing My Whole Immediate Family Because of Drugs Taught Me About Life.' This has helped to steer her on a path of helping more people to share their own truth and inspirational stories of overcoming very serious adversity and major life challenges that not everyone can survive the aftermath of let alone thrive after.
