THE WONDER Closes 3/14 at The Kirk Theatre

The Queen's Company, NYC's acclaimed all-female classical theater company, is proud to present a rare revival of Susanna Centlivre's luscious classic comedy of intrigue, The Wonder, directed by The Queen's Company Artistic Director Rebecca Patterson. The Wonder runs thru March 14, 2010 at The Kirk Theater, located in the Theatre Row Complex at 410 West 42 Street between 9 & 10 Avenues in NYC.

Steppenwolf Announces D’Amour & Saracho as Its Mellon Grant Recipients

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is pleased to announce it has commissioned playwrights Lisa D'Amour and Tanya Saracho to create two new plays each for the Steppenwolf ensemble over the next two years. These commissions are funded by a three-year grant presented to Steppenwolf in 2008 by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Laurie Anderson, Joan Osborne and Suzanne Vega received Women's Project's 2010 Women of Achievement Award March 8. The 32-year-old theater company dedicated to producing the work of female theater artists made the awards last night on International Women's Day at Women's Project's home, the Julia Miles Theater, 424West 55th Street.

TWITTER WATCH: Diane Paulus - 'a new Tribe is born'

Twitter Watch shines a BWW spotlight on Diane Paulus, the Tony-nominated director of Broadway's HAIR and Artistic Director of A.R.T. in Boston. Paulus recently finished directing the new Tribe in the Broadway hit, who premiere tonight, March 9, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. She next takes the original Tribe to London, where they will open in the West End at the Gilegud Theatre on April 14.

THE DIVINE SISTER Closes 3/7 at Theatre for the New City

Theater for the New City is pleased to announce that Charles Busch's new comedy THE DIVINE SISTER will play a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue). The developmental production, directed by Busch's longtime collaborator Carl Andress (The Third Story; Die, Mommie, Die!) will play a limited engagement of 24 performances from Saturday, February 6 through Sunday, March 7.

Cherry Lane Announces Performance Schedule for 'The Mentor Project', 3/16-5/29

Performance schedules for the three world-premiere Mentor Project plays have been announced by the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.), where the new plays STRAY by Ruth McKee, THE BELLE OF BELFAST by Nate Rufus Edelman and PATERNITY by Winter Miller will be performed this spring from March 16 to May 29.

Finborough Wins Pearson Award Bursary & Announces New Playwrights-in-Residence

Following the appointment of our former Literary Associate Titas Halder as Resident Assistant Director at the Donmar Warehouse, the Finborough Theatre has appointed a new team to manage its acclaimed Literary Department, working closely with Artistic Director Neil McPherson. The new team are Literary Manager Van Badham, Literary Assistant Daniel Burgess and Senior Reader Laura Jessop. The first fruits of their work will appear in Vibrant 2010 - An Anniversary Festival of Finborough Playwrights , celebrating the 30th year of the Finborough Theatre with 30 new plays by 30 UK and international playwrights, discovered, developed or championed by the Finborough Theatre including world premieres of brand new work from some of the hundreds of playwrights who began their careers with us.

Circle X Theatre Presents LASCIVIOUS SOMETHING; Opens March 27

On a secluded Greek island, an American ex-pat pursues his passions: winemaking and his breathtaking young wife. Then, on the eve of his first tasting, an old lover reappears bringing with her a wild and violent past. Circle X Theatre Co. presents the Debut Production of Lascivious Something by Sheila Callaghan. Paul Willis directs Alana Dietze, Olivia Henry, Silas Weir Mitchell and Alina Phelan in a six-week run opening March 27 at [Inside] the Ford. Low-priced previews begin March 18.

Yale Rep's COMPULSION Ends Run 2/28

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) presents the world premiere of COMPULSION by Rinne Groff, directed by Oskar Eustis, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street, New Haven) January 29-February 28.

The Wonder runs from February 26 - March 14, 2010 in a limited engagement at The Kirk Theater, located in the Theatre Row Complex at 410 West 42 Street between 9 & 10 Avenues in NYC. The play previews on February 26 for a February 27 opening.
