Things are just heavenly this week at New York City Center. That's because tonight through Sunday, March 24, Encores! continues with Rodgers and Hart's I Married an Angel.

Next up at New York City Center is I Married an Angel, the second Encores! production of the City Center 75th Anniversary Season. In addition to Sara Mearns as the Angel of the title, the production will feature Phillip Attmore (Peter Mueller), Max Baker (General Lucash), Mark Evans (Count Willy Palaffi), Ann Harada (Duchess of Holstein-Kuloff), Nikki M. James (Countess Peggy Palaffi), Hayley Podschun (Anna Murphy), and Tom Robbins (Harry Mischka Szigetti).

Announced this evening at a special Woodstock press conference, JOHN FOGERTYwill join in the celebration for Woodstock 50, appearing at the legendary festival's anniversary event, 50 years after signing on as the FIRST artist at the original festival.

Following the debut of the third-season finale on March 17, the comedy series HIGH MAINTENANCE has been renewed for a fourth season, it was announced today by Casey Bloys, president, HBO Programming.

Danny Elfman's new violin concerto, Eleven Eleven, will be performed by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, conducted by its music director Thomas S nderg rd. Violinist Sandy Cameron performs the solo, as she did for the world premiere and for its first recording with this orchestra.

Adapted for family audiences from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, BIG RIVER: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn tells the story of Huck and his friend Jim, a slave, as they travel along the mighty Mississippi River. Huck tries to help Jim escape to freedom and reunite with his family.

Childhood favorite CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY has taken over the Orpheum stage through March 17. Learn more about the show and its dedicated Mom, 'Mrs. Bucket,' played by Amanda Rose in the national tour.

59E59Theaters presents the New York premiere of Smart Blonde written by Willy Holtzman and directed by Peter Flynn. Produced by MBL Productions and Mary J. Davis in association with Judith Manocherian LLC, Smart Blonde begins performances Saturday, March 16, 2019 for a limited engagement through Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues).

Jobsite Theater continues their 20th Anniversary Season with another 'greatest hits' return! They've dusted off their trunks full of everything from skulls to skirts and daggers to dinosaurs for a revival of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] running Mar. 15 - Apr. 7 in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center, where Jobsite is resident theater company. Having shrunk Willy's wit and wisdom into manageable morsels of madness, they tear around the stage in doublets and Converse on a riotous romp through all 37 of Shakespeare's plays plus the sonnets all in an hour and a half.

The spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is coming to Melbourne in August this year, playing at Her Majesty's Theatre, following a hugely successful season in Sydney. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday 15 March at 1pm.

It was a week full of candy and sweets for me personally. First my work life was full of a sugar high with the grand opening of Candytopia at Mall of America - shameless plug but it's incredible so you should go check it out - and then it was the opening night of a new musical. The adaptation of Roald Dahl's story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has arrived in Minneapolis and will be here for nearly two weeks.

The Fabulous Fox Theatre brings the Best of Broadway to St. Louis with the announcement of the 2019-2020 U.S. Bank Broadway Series, including four new musicals that will make their St. Louis debuts. The seven-show season ticket package is headlined by pop culture phenomenon DEAR EVAN HANSEN. The season opens with the winner of four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, HELLO, DOLLY!. Get ready to dance into 2020 with SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL, followed by the 2018 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical, THE BAND'S VISIT. Embark on a mesmerizing joyride through a world of pure imagination with Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. The memory lives again when CATS, the record-breaking musical spectacular, comes to St. Louis in April and HAMILTON returns to close out the season for a limited five-week engagement! FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Manhattan Theatre Source will present the 2019 EstroGenius Festival, the longest running festival celebrating the work of women and gender non-conforming artists in NYC.  Begun in Manhattan Theatre Source in 2000 as a short-play festival, the festival has launched and supported hundreds of artists in its 19 years. In 2017 the festival moved to its new home at The Kraine Theatre on E. 4th St.

River City's about to get the last thing they expected ? and the very thing they need ? in The Music Man. Goodspeed Musicals kicks off its 2019 season with the rip-roarin' dance-filled classic running April 12 - June 20 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn. [Official Press Opening will be May 1, 2019].
