Palm Beach Dramaworks and Aspen Theater Masters are proud to announce the formation of a new play development program, New Bridges Fest. The two organizations, which have been working together since summer 2008, will present Equity staged-readings of four new plays by emerging American playwrights on March 8th and 9th at 7:30pm in Aspen, Colorado at the Black Box Theatre, and March 23rd and 24th at 3pm and 7pm in Palm Beach, at Dramaworks' downtown theatre. Two plays will be presented at each reading, followed by brief post-show discussions with the playwrights and artistic team. The playwrights are winners of past Theater Masters' competitions.

'A Moon for the Misbegotten,' written between 1941-1943 was performed for the first time in Columbus, Ohio in 1947. The play premiered on Broadway in 1957 and has been revived four times, winning multiple Tony Awards. The most recent production starring Kevin Spacey and Eve Best in 2007 came to Broadway after its run at the Old Vic Theatre in London.
Celebrated playwrights Eugene O'Neill, Eugene Ionesco, and Anton Chekhov will be the focus of Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2nd annual 'Master Playwright Series,' beginning October 27th (7PM) and running through June 2nd at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard.) Sponsored by Nancy and Jay Parker, 'The Master Playwright Series' is scheduled in three segments and will devote several evenings to each playwright. Scenes from the author's plays as well as full staged readings will be presented including: 'The Hairy Ape' by Eugene O'Neill, 'The Bald Soprano' by Eugene Ionesco and 'Uncle Vanya' by Anton Chekhov. In addition to the readings, the evenings will invite audience participation, discussion and an overview of the work and themes.
