Sheyenne High School (SHS) Theatre jump starts the area high school theatre season with its production of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin.

When Falsettos first premiered on Broadway in 1992, the show gained instant status as a game changer. With William Finn's brave new style of musical theatre composition and in placing the lives of queer characters at the forefront of its storytelling, the show has become a cultural landmark and a blueprint for the array of modern musical theatre that followed in its wake.

Bucks County Playhouse will present the fall 2016 Visiting Artists Series. Entertainment events by guest performers ranging from music concerts to theater for young audiences will take place throughout September and October in the luxuriously renovated historic Bucks County Playhouse.

The rebirth of Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) was celebrated with over 300 guests at the Second Annual Galavant in the Garden on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the magnificent 100-acre 18th century Hortulus Farm in Wrightstown, PA. There was a outstanding concert by the renowned Broadway and television star Megan Hilty. The gala is the premiere fall event of Bucks County complete with aperitifs, a moveable feast, live auction, Hilty's performance and a lavish dessert buffet. New York City Center today announced additional casting for the concert performances of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park with George, October 24 through 26.

The second show from the newly created, Second Star Theatre, will be the Tony winning musical, 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.'

Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) has announced that it will stage four developmental presentations of Nikko Benson and Benjamin Halstead's NIKOLA TESLA DROPS THE BEAT, an electronic dance musical about history's most overlooked inventor.

Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) has announced that it will stage four developmental presentations of Nikko Benson and Benjamin Halstead's NIKOLA TESLA DROPS THE BEAT, an electronic dance musical about history's most overlooked inventor. The first of seven developmental presentations of the 2016 - 2017 season, the production is directed by Marshall Pailet, features musical direction by Madeline Smith, choreography by Maxx Reed and dramaturgy by Jeffrey Stoller. Presentations are on Sept 30th at 3pm & 7pm and Oct 1st at 2pm & 7pm at Playwrights Horizons South Room, 416 West 42nd Street, 4th Floor. Running time is 75 minutes. Tickets are $18 and available at www.mtf.nyc

Lincoln Center Theater's new production of William Finn and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos begins previews tonight, September 29, and runs for 14 weeks only at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48 Street). Playwrights Horizons has announced a two-week extension for A LIFE, the world premiere of a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock (A Small Fire and The Drunken City at Playwrights, The Receptionist, The Thugs, Swimming in the Shallows).  Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Marjorie Prime, Detroit, Maple and Vine at Playwrights; You Got Older; Belleville; This Wide Night; Smokefall), A LIFE will be the second production of the theater company's 2016/2017 Season.
