Sasha Soprano presents The Drag Queens of Comedy, in association with Peaches Christ Productions, Friday, May 12 at 7 and 10 p.m., at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. What has become a not-to-be-missed event in San Francisco since 2010, The Drag Queens of Comedy makes its Chicago debut with a line up of the world's most popular drag queen stars. Inspired by the Brothers Grimm and Perrault fairy tales, world-renowned San Francisco Ballet returns to the Kennedy Center with the visually stunning and magical adaption of Christopher Wheeldon's Cinderella©, October 26-30 for seven performances in the Opera House. Choreographed by the Tony Award® and two-time Olivier Award-winning British choreographer, Wheeldon and his acclaimed creative team bring this imaginative production to the stage featuring a powerful score by Sergei Prokofiev. Co-produced with the Dutch National Ballet, it made its world premiere in Amsterdam on December 13, 2012 and its U.S. premiere on May 3, 2013 with San Francisco Ballet. The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra will accompany this production, led by conductor Martin West.
