New Musical BOSTON|NEBRASKA To Have First Staged Reading

Blake Allen, known for his innovative bridging of contemporary music and theater through composition, performance and advocacy, announces first AEA staged reading of Boston|Nebraska, based upon the literary work of Willa Cather, April 3 and 4 in Manhattan.

Theater To Go Takes on Racial Injustice and Acts of Courage in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

It's a coming of age story set against a backdrop of racism and small town secrets. Theater to Go presents "To Kill a Mockingbird" at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre Fridays, March 17 and 24 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, March 18 and 25 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, March 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on March 17.

Resounding Love for Love Resounding: The ARK Trio Shines at Symphony Space

The ARK Trio (soprano Allison Charney, cellist Kajsa William-Olsson and pianist Reiko Uchida) had an auspicious debut presenting six world premieres of new classical compositions in front of a surprisingly packed and enthusiastic audience at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia this past Valentine's Day.

The ARK Trio to present World Premieres in NYC 2/14

The ARK trio's inaugural concert taking place this Valentine's Day in New York City celebrates the art song and champions four noted international classical composers who collectively share a love of the poetic and draw inspiration from the ARK trio's unique sound of voice, cello and piano. In their intrepid debut as the ARK trio - soprano Allison Charney, cellist Kajsa William-Olsson and pianist Reiko Uchida -  will perform six world premieres by American composer Michael Ching -"Arrangements and Derangements: Interpretations of Schubert", Israeli composer/pianist Moshe Knoll - "Simplicity," Russian-born, Israeli raised composer Dina Pruzhansky - "On Love and Land" and three works by American composer Kim D. Sherman "The Wedding Song," "The Laodamiad: A Mythic Journey" and "Prairie Diary" at NYC's  Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space on Tuesday February 14 at 7PM.

Theatre, TV and Film Director & Producer Jeffrey Hayden Dies at 90

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that theatre, television and film director, producer and writer Jeffrey Hayden died peacefully after a year of cancer treatment on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his loving family. He was 90 years old.

Now celebrating its 39th Season, Pontine Theatre, a resident company at Strawbery Banke Museum, announces its 2016-17 Performance Series.  Some productions will be presented on the campus of Strawbery Banke Museum and others at select locations in the Greater Seacoast community.  Pontine's season is supported by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.
