The Young Players will present Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr., July 7-10, at the Royal Theatre in historic Downtown Benton.  The show is directed by D. Brent Miller with music direction by Jo Murry and choreography by Jenny Johnston.  Filled with fun flappers, dashing leading men and a villainess audiences will love to hate, Thoroughly Modern Millie JR., is a clever adaptation of the six-time-Tony-Award-winning Best Musical and the Academy Award-winning film. Thoroughly Modern Millie JR., is the high-spirited musical romp that has all of New York dancing the Charleston!  It's 1922 in New York City, and a young Millie Dillmount has just moved to the Big Apple in search of a new life.  Her grand plan is to find a job as a secretary for a wealthy man and then marry him. However, her plan goes completely awry. Millie's wealthy boss is slow in proposing marriage, and the man she actually falls in love with doesn't have a dime to his name - or so he tells her.  What's a small town girl to do? 

"The Elephant Man" is the next production at Kansas City's Barn Players - opening Friday evening, July 29 playing through Sunday matinee August 14 at The Barn Players Theatre, 6219 Martway in Mission; the play is rated "PG-13".

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents the music, the magic, and the holiday cheer of the beloved MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL. If you're a fan of Broadway and the Muppets, spend the evening enjoying the film's festive and funny songs including "Scrooge," "Marley and Marley," "It Feels Like Christmas," "Thankful Heart," and even some numbers that didn't make it to the big screen! Scott Coulter brought the music of Studio 54 to Below 54 last night as the club celebrated it's 3rd year on that famous NYC street. In the legendary club's heyday the guest  list was a who's who from the world of entertainment - Andy Warhol, Liza Minnelli, Halston, Elizabeth Taylor, Mick Jagger, Diana Ross, Brooke Shields, John Travolta, Michael Jackson - and the music played kept them dancing all through the night. It was dancing through the night at 54 Below yesterday and Max at the entry door was much more accommodating than those guards at the 1970 Studio 54. Happy Anniversary to 54 Below and also to Steven & Eda (Baruch)

The Writers Guild of America, West will honor late screenwriter-director-actor-producer Harold Ramis with its Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement at the Writers Guild Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 14. Erica Mann Ramis and family will accept the award on his behalf.
