Submitted by Petite Opera, Chicago suburban Park Ridge's professional 501c3 non-profit opera company, presents its first musical theatre work, 'SNOOPY!!! The Musical' April 25-May 4, 2014. Based on the Charles M Schulz Peanuts cartoon strip, this fun musical focuses on the life of Snoopy, from the puppy farm to his attempts at writing the great American novel. It also follows the Peanuts child characters in their discovery and interpretation of their world as they grow up. Fans of Charles Schulz's strip will recognize Snoopy and his friend Woodstock, Lucy's psychiatrist booth, Linus' blanket and more. The delightful musical includes the upbeat songs 'Poor Sweet Baby,' 'I Know Now,' 'Where Did That Little Dog Go?,' 'The Big Bow Wow' and 'It Was a Dark and Stormy Night.'

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced that its 2014/15 season will include the U.S. premiere of Scenes from a Marriage written by Ingmar Bergman, adapted by Emily Mann and directed by Ivo van Hove; the New York premiere of The Invisible Hand, written by Ayad Akhtar and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and the New York premiere of Forever, writtenand performed by Dael Orlandersmith and directed by Neel Keller. In the coming weeks NYTW will announce an additional production that will round out the season.

After a months-long series of competitions at the district, regional, and national levels, a panel of judges has named five young singers the winners of the 2014 National Council Auditions, the nation's most prestigious vocal competition. Each winner, who performed two arias onstage at the Metropolitan Opera this afternoon with conductor Marco Armiliatoand the Met's orchestra, will receive a $15,000 cash prize and the prestige and exposure that come with winning a competition that has launched the careers of many of opera's biggest stars.

Giants of Generosity, a Bergen County-based charitable organization, in partnership with Gunter Wilhelm Cutlery was sponsored by BMW of Tenafly, and Doug Singer of Daily Food & Wine, Chef Maneet Chauhan's manager. The two-day Celebrity Food & Wine Show was held on Saturday, March 8th and Sunday, March 9th at the Clinton Inn Hotel, 145 Dean Drive in Tenafly, N.J. Featured guest, Chef Maneet Chauhan, author, restaurateur, and a judge on the Food Network's "Chopped" program demonstrated her cooking style as the audience got to sample her Malai chicken sliders prepared by the chefs of Palmer's Crossing at the Clinton Inn. Executive Chef Guy Mitchell, producer of the White House Chef Tours emceed a two-chef, culinary student cook-off competition, and ABC Eyewitness News Anchor Ken Rosato welcomed the crowd. This two-day event included multiple sessions for the general public to take part in the Grand Tasting with dozens of local restaurant fare and wine tastings. The guests enjoyed the cooking competitions and culinary workshops, while accompanied by live music from The Tim Gysin Band, Acute Inflections featuring Elasea Douglas and Sadiki, and also the NJ Gordon Band. A good time was had by all.
