The International Beethoven Project, led by President and Artistic DirectorGeorge Lepauw, revealed today additional details about its world premiere presentation of a recently discovered Beethoven song for male voice and piano during Beethoven Festival: LOVE 2013-the organization's third annual multidisciplinary festival inspired by the genius of Ludwig van Beethoven, today, Sept. 7-15, 2013. Entitled 'Liebe' or 'Ich wiege dich in meinem Arm' (I cradle you in my Arms) Hess 137, the piece will be performed by tenor Dominic Armstrong, and pianist George Lepauw on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. at the LOVE 2013 headquarters, Merit School of Music's Joy Faith Knapp Music Center (38 S. Peoria Street).
Starz in association with Sony Pictures Television has announced today that Graham McTavish (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, '24') will play Dougal MacKenzie and Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot, Gangs of New York) will play Colum MacKenzie in the highly anticipated original series 'Outlander.' The series will be adapted from Diana Gabaldon's international best-selling books, with the first two episodes written by executive producer Ronald D. Moore ('Battlestar Galactica,' 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,' 'Star Trek: The Next Generation') and directed by John Dahl ('Dexter,' 'Breaking Bad,' 'Justified'). 'Outlander,' which is set to premiere on STARZ in 2014, will begin filming in Scotland, where the series is set, this fall.

STRANGE RAIN follows two reporters as they try to unravel the mystery of a prolonged rain with the aid of lesbian psychics, comic meteorologists, a street-kid poet, and a mysterious man who talks of UFOs and secret experiments in the desert, all leading back decades to the real-life experiments of Wilhelm Reich in the 1950s. The story, though, is not so much about Reich as about deciding what is real and making peace with a difficult past. There are several love stories-central, a boy's love for his father.
