The Actors Fund will present a one night only benefit reading of the American classic Our Town on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 7:30 p .m. at The Gerald R. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College (524 West 59th Street). Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the play's Broadway opening, the proceeds from this event will benefit the programs and services of The Actors Fund.

The Human Rights Campaign - the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization - hosted its annual Greater New York Gala dinner on February 2, at the Waldorf Astoria. The evening featured a performance by Billy Porter, star of this spring's highly anticipated new musical Kinky Boots. With a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper, and direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots proves that sometimes the best way to fit in, is to stand out.

Two distinguished women have been elected as new members of the Board of Directors of the New York Philharmonic. Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Whoopi Goldberg was elected in January 2013, and Pamela Thomas-Graham - Head of Talent, Branding, and Communications at Credit Suisse, the Philharmonic's Global Sponsor, and a member of the bank's executive board - was elected in October 2012.

Yesterday the Dutch production of Sister Act has started its rehearsals in accompaniment of the press. Since the world premiere of Sister Act on June 2nd 2009 in London's Palladium Theatre, nine other productions of Sister Act have had audiences on their feet. After London, New York, Hamburg, Paris and other world cities it is now time for The Hague to experience the joy of this co- production with Whoopi Goldberg. On March 3rd 2013 Sister Act will experience it's opening night in our own AFAS Circustheatre.
