To close its 2017-2018 season Portland Player's has mounted one of its most ambitious productions in recent memory. Titanic The Musical with book by Peter Stone and music and lyrics by Maury Yeston receives an affecting and effective performance by the forty-nine actors and thirteen musicians.

Broadway Dance Lab (BDL), a non-profit choreography incubator supporting new works of dance-driven theatre, commemorated its five year anniversary with a Gala celebration on Monday April 2 at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. The evening included cocktails and dinner, along with a performance of new works-in-process by Robert Fairchild, Brooke Wendle, Paul McGill, and artistic director Josh Prince. Broadway veteran and host of TLC's Trading Spaces, Paige Davis, served as master of ceremonies.

BalletCollective's 2016 Season will further explore the company's unique collaborative process with world premiere works featuring two collaborations pairing architects Carlos Arnaiz and James Ramsey with composers Judd Greenstein and Ellis Ludwig-Leone respectively. Both works will be choreographed by BalletCollective director Troy Schumacher and will be premiered at NYU Skirball Center on October 27 and 28 featuring live music and an ensemble of eight dancers, including New York City Ballet's Harrison Coll, Rachel Hutsell Anthony Huxley, Lauren King, Isabella LaFreniere, Ashley Laracey, and Lauren Lovette.

Artist-in-Resident Sydnie L. Mosley premiered BodyBusiness as part of the Performance Project at University Settlement. This experiential work explored the issues, ideas, and solutions regarding how dancers can make a living off meaningful work. Part marketplace, part performance, and part practical resource sharing, BodyBusiness was more than just a performance piece--it was a revolutionary way of building and uplifting the dance community.

Fire Island Dance Festival returned for its 21st edition July 17-19, 2015, with some of the most talked-about world-class dance companies, raising a record-breaking $544,555 for Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2015 Lincoln Center engagement kicked off with a star-studded Ailey Spirit Gala on Wednesday, June 10th. The one-night-only benefit performance and party honoring the Ford Foundation and sponsored by FedEx featured supermodel and actor Tyson Beckford as Honorary Chair. Gala Co-Chairs were Gina F. Adams, Ricki Lander, Almaz & Marc S. Strachan, Pamela Zilly & John Schaefer and Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach, and the Vice Chairs were Michele & Timothy Barakett, Dr. N. Anthony & Robyn Coles, and Leslie & Tom Maheras.
