With stunning new tap dancing choreography, the 15th anniversary London production of Alan?Ayckbourn and Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical BY JEEVES, is to play 5 weeks at the?Landor?Theatre from Tuesday 1 February to Saturday 5 March.
The first ever revival of the controversial play by Emlyn Williams plays for a limited four week season from Tuesday, 1 February 2011 (Press Nights: Thursday 3 and Friday, 4 February 2011 at 7.30pm) at the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre as part of RediscoveriesUK, a three month season of rediscovered plays by writers from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Talking to the UK Telegraph, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber tells the paper that The Wizard of Oz, which opens in February 2011 in London (and already has a $13+ million dollar advance) will play America next, with talks underway to do a television casting show for Dorothy as he's done in the UK. Britain's loss could be America's gain, however. 'A couple of the networks in the US have wanted to build something around what I do on TV, and I think with Oz something is definitely going to happen there. The X Factor juggernaut is going to be huge there next year but other networks are looking for something to go against it. Once we've found a Dorothy in the US, my instinct is to open the show in Kansas [Dorothy's home].'
Shakespeare & Company's new Artistic Director Tony Simotes today announced news of a hugely successful and near record-breaking box office for its 2010/11 season, along with a sneak preview of his exhilarating and ambitious line-up for the Company's 34th Performance Season (his second as A.D.). Sadler's Wells is pleased to announce the casting details for the West End opening of Richard Thomas and Stephen Mear's fabulously original musical, Shoes. Sheffield Theatres has today announced casting for its production of ME AND MY GIRL this December. Daniel Crossley takes the lead role of Bill Snibson, Jemima Rooper will play Sally and Miriam Margolyes will take the part of the Duchess. The production is the first musical to be staged at the Crucible following its £15.3 million redevelopment. The production will be directed by Anna Mackmin. The production will run from 2 December until 29 January 2011.
