Productions of Translations and Afterplay, produced as part of a season of work dedicated to the Irish playwright Brian Friel, will play Sheffield Theatres this spring.

Jemma Redgrave will play 'Lady Driver', Jason Durr will play 'Quine' and Jamie Glover will play 'Headingley' when Michael Frayn's classic comedy, Donkeys' Years comes to Rose Theatre Kingston in 2014. This sparkling revival, which will open tonight 6 February, will be directed by Lisa Spirling, making a return to the Rose following her acclaimed production of Michael Frayn's Here in 2012.

Fresh from his role with The Book of Mormon, Haydn Oakley stars as Gilbert Chilvers. Amy Booth-Steel, currently appearing in the National Theatre's The Light Princess, will play Gilbert's wife, determined social-climber Joyce Chilvers.

This morning Executive Producer Henrietta Duckworth announced the full programme of events for the inaugural Yorkshire Festival. For the first time in its 111 year history a cultural festival will precede the Tour de France. On July 6th and 7th Yorkshire plays host to the Grand Depart - the first two stages of the Tour de France - and in the 100 days preceding, Yorkshire will see 47 cultural events, taking place across the county.

Following its critically acclaimed 2009 engagement in the Royal National Theatre in London, Martin Crimp's new translation of Ferdinand Bruckner's 'Pains of Youth' will finally have its New York premiere in a production of The Cake Shop Theater Company at the Access Theater, 380 Broadway, February 13 to March 2.

Full casting has been announced for the productions of Translations and Afterplay, as part of an upcoming season of work dedicated to the Irish playwright Brian Friel, taking place at Sheffield Theatres this spring.

A Unicorn production, HANNAH by Chris Thorpe, will be directed by Simon Evans and designed by Ben Stones with lighting by David W Kidd and sound by Ed Lewis, and projection design by Andreji Goulding. The show runs Saturday 8 February to Sunday 9 March 2014.

A Finborough Theatre commission, Carthage is the debut play from the Finborough Theatre's new Channel 4 Playwright in Residence, Chris Thompson, and will receive its world premiere in a four week run from Tuesday, 28 January 2014 (Press Night: Thursday 30 January 2014 at 7.30pm).

Samantha Bond (Passion Play, Amy's View, Downton Abbey, Outnumbered) plays Muriel Eubanks, a glamorous divorcee looking for love in Beaumont-sur-Mer on the French Riviera and John Marquez (Privates On Parade, The Taming of the Shrew, Doc Martin) plays Andre Thibault, Beaumont-sur-Mer's Chief of Police.

Marc Elliot, playing Mr. McQueen, joins the previously announced Richard Fleeshman as Bobby Strong, Jenna Russell as Penelope Pennywise and Jonathan Slinger as Officer Lockstock in the multi Tony Award-winning URINETOWN The Musical, directed by Jamie Lloyd (Macbeth, The Hothouse, The Pride) at the St James Theatre.

Sheffield Theatres and Evolution Pantomimes' have announced the cast of this year's spectacular family pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, alongside the news that Sheffield's Our Cow Molly dairy farm will sponsor the production.
