The West?End cast is announced today for the new British musical,?USHERS: The Front of House Musical, and they are in the studio recording the cast album, to be released in March?by SimG Productions.
USHERS: The Front of House Musical is transfering to Charing Cross Theatre for a six-week seasonm following its premiere at The Hope Theatre in Islington. It will play at 10.15pm on Thursdays - Saturdays from Friday 7 March to Saturday 19 April.
Press night is Wednesday 12 March at 10.15pm
Joining original and returning cast members Ralph Bogard, Ross Mcneill, Liam Ross-Mills are:
Daniel Buckley was most recently standby Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon (Prince of Wales), Marvin Camden, understudy and played Lucas Lloyd in Loserville (Garrick and West Yorkshire Playhouse), Piggy in Lord of the Flies (UK Tour), Rupert Pie in Fresher: The Musical (Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and Otto in Spring Awakening (UK tour).
Ceris Hine was voted winner of The Voice of Tomorrow in 2009 and in 2011 she released her debut album 'Rose Tinted Girl'. She recently reprised the role of Columbia in the 40th Anniversary UK tour of The Rocky Horror Show.
Carly Thoms played Liesl in the?UK tour of The Sound of Music. In London she appeared in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Sound of Music and Babes in Arms (Union Theatre).
Set in a West End theatre, USHERS: The Front of House Musical follows a working shift in the lives of the stagiest people in the theatre - the front of house staff, portraying the hilarious, ridiculous and frequently
moving stories of ice-cream and programme sellers who dare to dream... A preview performance of a new jukebox musical is due to take place, a three-year workplace romance is on the rocks, an untrained newbie is working her first shift and the amorous manager is under pressure to cut costs. What could possibly go wrong?
USHERS: The Front of House Musical has big, bold company numbers, Fosse-like ice cream tray choreography and a script with heart, soul and an ice-bucket full of laughs.
USHERS: The Front of House Musical brings together the writing talents of Yiannis Koutsakos (music & lyrics), James Oban (lyrics) - @Westendproducer's Search for A Twitter Composer (#SFATC) finalists - and BBC comedy actor James Rottger (book). Described by them as Front of House's answer to A Chorus Line, it marks the trio's musical theatre writing deb?ut
