The Geffen Playhouse today announced that Arye Gross (Minority Report, Castle, Geffen's Coney Island Christmas) will star in Glen Berger's award-winning one-man play Underneath the Lintel: An Impressive Presentation of Lovely Evidences, directed by Steven Robman.

Due to extremely strong ticket sales, Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song has been extended for two additional weeks of performances, announced Second Stage Theater (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director, Casey Reitz, Executive Director). The production will now play through Sunday, December 3.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that is now accepting script submissions for the 2018 National Playwrights Conference. Writers may submit their new plays to the O'Neill's Open Submissions Process through Friday, October 13, 2017.

MCC Theater today announced the complete cast and creative team for Amanda Peet's Our Very Own Carlin McCullough, the first of the 2017 PlayLabs readings, which will be held tonight, September 11th, at 7pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

The play has aged well. Women are, of course, still grappling with some of the issues that Heidi confronts. But it is not the specific issues that make the play last and lead me to predict that there will be revivals a century hence. One thing is for sure: the pop culture time-stamps like specific songs redolent of particular years will surely almost certainly elude our grandchildren. But the interplay between bright, somewhat idealistic people and their times is bound to continue, and stories about that interplay are bound to go on holding the attention.

Provocative, relevant, intelligent New York Theatre is coming to Middlebury.

The Arctic Group has commissioned playwright Daniel Talbott (Slipping and Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, America, Kuwait) to write a new short play that will be performed on a double bill with Steve McMahon's Sad Indie Love Song in Series B of their inaugural FRIDGE Festival. The festival runs August 31 - September 10, and Series B will play Thu 8/31 at 9pm, Sun 9/3 at 7pm, Wed 9/6 9pm, and Sat 9/9 at 7pm.
