Utah Opera to Present THE (R)EVOLUTION OF STEVE JOBS in May

In its Salt Lake City premiere—and the Utah Opera's 2022-23 season finale—Mason Bates & Mark Campbell's The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs will bring innovation to the operatic stage for five performances at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre this May with a soulful exploration of the iconic figure—Steve Jobs.

iSING! Suzhou to Present North American Premiere of ECHOES OF ANCIENT TANG POEMS

In celebration of Lunar New Year, the iSING! Suzhou International Young Artists Festival announced the North American premiere of Echoes of Ancient Tang Poems on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 7:30 PM at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall in Philadelphia, and Saturday, January 7, at 7:30 PM at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York.

If this production indicates what Des Moines Metro Opera has planned for the future, then I'm sure we will see them around for another 50 years and more.

For The First Time In 15 Years, Verdi's RIGOLETTO Comes to The Academy Of Music

Opera Philadelphia returns to the Academy of Music stage for the first time since September 2019 with four performances of Rigoletto from April 29-May 8. Long one of the most popular works in the operatic canon, Verdi's unforgettable tragedy has not been performed by Opera Philadelphia in 15 years, making this new production an extra special event on the region's spring performing arts calendar.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City Announces 2021-2022 Season

The season includes two mainstage productions at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs and Tosca and two add on experiences- a night of glamour at the Kauffman Center with Lyric Opera Goes to Hollywood and live performances of Amahl and the Night Visitors.

Chausson's Opera Presents KING ARTHUR Fully Staged U.S. Premiere, Live At Bard SummerScape

Committed since its inception to reviving important but neglected operas, Bard SummerScape has long proven itself “an indispensable part of the summer operatic landscape” (Musical America). This year's immersion in “Nadia Boulanger and Her World” presents the long overdue first fully staged American production of King Arthur (“Le roi Arthus”), the only opera by Boulanger's compatriot and close contemporary Ernest Chausson.

Portland Opera Announces 2020/21 Season

Portland Opera has announced programming for the 2020/21 season, which will open on September 11, 2020. The season will launch in the fall with Robert Xavier Rodríguez's Frida, starring soprano Catalina Cuervo in the title role. This will be followed by the company's fall classic opera, Puccini's enduring drama Tosca, in October and November. The season will continue with a double bill of two pieces honoring the lives of Jewish victims of the Holocaust-Grigori Frid's The Diary of Anne Frank and Jake Heggie's For a Look or a Touch-in early 2021. On March 13, the company will present its annual Big Night concert at the Keller Auditorium. The season will close with Giuseppe Verdi's tour de force opera, Il Trovatore, starring Italian soprano Selene Zanetti in her U.S. debut.
