Last night, more than 100 veterans from around the country including Andy Baldwin of the hit ABC show 'The Bachelor,' spent their evening at Wayne Newton's all new show, Once Before I Go, at Tropicana Las Vegas

Wayne Newton first came to Las Vegas on the bus from Arizona as a 17 year-old in 1959. In the 50 years since, he's become as much a part of the city as, say, Broadway is part of New York. Performing here over the years, Newton earned the sobriquet 'Mr. Las Vegas' and has served as a representative of his adopted home in many arenas. But, the largest of those arenas is, of course, entertainment.

Las Vegas Legend Wayne Newton celebrated the Opening Night of his all-new show, Once Before I Go, with a star-studded red carpet and gala last night, October 28 at Tropicana Las Vegas. Newton's limited engagement production is in honor of his 50 years as an entertainment icon on the Las Vegas Strip.

Preceded by Michael Bernardi (son of Broadway legend Herschel Bernardi) who, earlier this month, made his cabaret debut at Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's in Studio City, the venue concludes its festival of October concerts with noted Los Angeles artists Charlotte Ruiz, Lisa Stanley and Jeanne Page.

Previews for the all-new, limited engagement production, Once Before I Go, at Tropicana Las Vegas run October 14 - October 27 with a Grand Opening slated for October 28. Tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime production are currently on sale. Local residents with a valid ID can enjoy a 20% discount during the preview period.

Las Vegas entertainment institution passes away in his sleep.

AN EVENING AT LA CAGE has taken its last curtsy after a 24 year run. The cast, led by Frank Marino, were informed of this unfortunate closing after Monday's performance. There are rumors that the producers are trying to negotiate for a TV show and hopes to reopen the show in the future. La Cage is the fourth longest running show on the Vegas strip. When An Evening at La Cage opened at the Riviera in 1985, skeptic casino owners gave producer Norbert Aleman and his young star, female impersonator Frank Marino, three months to prove themselves. Obviously, they did a good job of doing just that. It's 20 years later and La Cage and Frank Marino have held up very well - of course, for Marino, a little cosmetic surgery hasn't hurt.

Westchester Broadway Theatre has announced a change in its upcoming season schedule. TITANIC, The Musical which was slated to run from 3/26/09 to 6/14/09 will be replaced by FUNNY GIRL. Donald Birely will Direct The Styne/Merrill Musical. Auditions are imminent & will be announced. The change, press notes state was made to offer audiences a more fun, light-hearted evening of entertainment in these troubled times. Funny Girl, is an only-in-America story of an ugly duckling who transforms herself into a swan. Fanny Brice is a goofy, comic singer from the Lower East Side, who rises to stardom in 1920s Vaudeville with the Ziegfeld Follies. It recounts her stormy relationship with a handsome, very proud gambler turned embezzler, Nick Arnstein, whom she loves, wins, and eventually loses. The Jule Styne-Bob Merrill score is a parade of classic tunes including 'People' and 'Don't Rain On My Parade' 'I'd Rather Be Blue Over You.' and delightful dance numbers such as 'Sadie, Sadie' and 'Rat-tat-tat-tat'.
