His name has long been synonymous with the city he calls home, and now Wayne Newton - Mr. Las Vegas - will celebrate his 50th year of entertaining audiences on The Strip with an all-new, limited engagement production, ONCE BEFORE I GO, at Tropicana Las Vegas beginning October 14. Tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime production will go on sale beginning September 23.

A celebration of 50 storied years as told by the man who shaped them, ONCE BEFORE I GO is a rare opportunity to experience an iconic career through the entertainer's own lens. No other performer has seen 50 years from center stage in the ever-changing city of Las Vegas and it's likely none other ever will.

ONCE BEFORE I GO is an intimate journey through a life spent on stage. From a shy 15-year-old just off the bus, to his place as one of America's most celebrated entertainment icons, ONCE BEFORE I GO is the story of Wayne Newton told by the man who is living it.

Having performed live to more than 40 million people, Newton has epitomized the talent, glamour and energy that is Las Vegas. From the tale behind his signature tuxedo to his storied history with Elvis, the Rat Pack and many others, ONCE BEFORE I GO is his unique life story, 50 years in the making.

"Being the new kid on the block back in 1959, it is both exciting and artistically challenging that in 2009 I am able to do the kind of show I've always wanted to do here in my home town that I love," said Newton. "It is the icing on the cake to bring this show to Tropicana Las Vegas at the request of my dear friend, Alex Yemenidjian."

ONCE BEFORE I GO will feature Newton with an exhilarating full orchestra, photos and video, the latest in theater technology and lots of surprises. It is only fitting that this never before seen show celebrating the man who has been such an integral part of the rich history of Las Vegas will come alive in the equally iconic Tropicana Las Vegas, one of the first resorts to make The Strip an international sensation.

"We are thrilled that the one and only Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton, has chosen Tropicana Las Vegas as the venue for the most important celebration of his career," said Tropicana Chairman and CEO Alex Yemenidjian.

ONCE BEFORE I GO will be performed Tuesday - Saturday at 8:30 pm in the Tiffany Theatre at Tropicana Las Vegas. A VIP package that includes a golden circle seat, a meet & greet with Wayne Newton and the opportunity to have a photo taken with the one and only Mr. Las Vegas is available for purchase.

Tickets for ONCE BEFORE I GO can be purchased by calling the Tropicana Box Office at 702-739-2411 / 800-829-9034 or online at www.Tropicanalv.com

Tropicana Las Vegas has been a Las Vegas landmark since its inception in 1957. Recently acquired by the Onex Corporation and led by seasoned gaming executive Alex Yemenidjian, the historic property is currently transforming itself into a vibrant South Beach, Miami themed escape. The revitalized Tropicana Las Vegas will feature pulsating music, live salsa dancers, bright tropical colors and a sizzling nightlife scene. Renovations are scheduled for completion in 2010 and include the redesign of every hotel room, the casino, world-famous pool area, several new restaurants, bars, a new poker room and nightclub.
