Composer Dan Furman has reworked his first musical, Impossible But True, and is preparing to present it starting in April - first in Brooklyn then across the river in Manhattan.
Paranormal History Productions will present a limited run of The Bloody Deed of 1857, an adaptation of a true story by Elise Gainer. The site-specific work will take place in the historic Colonnade Row nearby where the murder took place on Bond Street. The work was selected as the featured piece in the Tectonic Theatre Project's Advanced Moment Work Master Class with Moises Kaufman in May 2017. Ken Davenport, the veteran Broadway producer, consulted on this unique immersive experience including script and overall project development.

The Canton Museum of Art (CMA) presents a special exhibition, American Masters: Watercolors from the CMA Permanent Collection, which features the Museum's most recent acquisition: an 1890 Impressionist masterpiece, Bleak House, Broadstairs, by acclaimed pioneer of American Impressionism, Childe Hassam. Major watercolors by Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, George Luks, John Marin, Maurice Prendergast, and John Singer Sargent are also featured in this special exhibition, which is on view through March 2, 2018.

Where better to spend Halloween than where the 'Legend' lives? Historic Hudson Valley's Halloween season events, the largest in the tri-state area, kick off Friday, Sept. 29 and take place on selected evenings through Saturday, Nov. 25. They will draw more than 200,000 visitors to Sleepy Hollow Country this fall.
Pianist Shai Wosner brings music from his critically acclaimed Impromptu recording to the concert hall, performing works by Schubert, Chopin, Dvo?ak, Gershwin, and Ives on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Washington Irving High School. The program, which launches the Peoples' Symphony Concerts season as part of its Mann Series, includes Schubert's Four Impromptus, D935; Chopin's Impromptus, Op. 29 and 36; Dvo?ak's Impromptu in D minor, B129; Gershwin's Impromptu in Two Keys; and Ives's Improvisations for piano, I and III. In addition to these selections from the recording, he performs Schubert's Sonata in D Major, D. 850, Op. 53, "Gasteiner," in a look ahead to his new recital series, Schubert: The Great Sonatas, performed at the 92nd Street Y in the spring.
