KC Rep Presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Opening Today

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary celebration with the beloved holiday classic, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Jerry Genochio. Performances run November 21 through December 26 at UMKC's Spencer Theatre.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary celebration with the beloved holiday classic, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Jerry Genochio. Performances run tonight, November 21 through December 26 at UMKC's Spencer Theatre.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's A CHRISTMAS CAROL to Open 11/21

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary celebration with the beloved holiday classic, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Jerry Genochio. Performances run November 21 through December 26 at UMKC's Spencer Theatre. Since 1981, more than half a million audience members have fallen in love with Dicken's ageless story of the ghostly experiences of the hard-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge on a magical Christmas Eve. Press night is Saturday, November 29th, 8pm curtain.

BWW Reviews: GHOST-WRITER Opens the 2014-2015 Season for Spinning Tree Theatre

A tear glistened as it rolled down her cheek, and the audience knew they had seen something special. That something special was the opening night of Ghost-Writer at the Quality Hill Playhouse in Kansas City on Saturday August 23. Michael Grayman directs the Spinning Tree Theatre production of Michael Hollinger's Ghost-Writer. The production opens the 2014-2015 season for Spinning Tree, and if this is an indication of the remainder of the season, it is going to be a marvelous ride.

Andy Parkhurst the Managing Director of the Spinning Tree Theatre announced the cast for the upcoming 2014-2015 season. The theatrical production company expands their season to four shows for the first time. Spinning Tree will present three Kansas City premieres during the season.

BWW Reviews: WATER BY THE SPOONFUL Now Playing at the Unicorn Theatre

Water by the Spoonful a play by Quiara Alegria Hudes currently runs on the Jerome Stage at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Mo. The 2012 Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama is the story of an Iraqi war veteran who returns home to discover his mother is running a chat room for recovering addicts. Mark Robbins directs a dynamic cast in this Unicorn production. Robbins has previously directed Good People and God of Carnage co-productions with Kansas City Actors Theatre.

BWW Preview: WATER BY THE SPOONFUL Coming to the Unicorn Theatre, 4/23

The Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Mo. presents Water by the Spoonful, April 23 through May 18. The play written by Quiara Alergria Hudes and directed by Mark Robbins will run on the Jerome Stage at 3828 Main. Water by the Spoonful won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and playwright Hudes won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical for In the Heights.

It's April 3, 1968, the night before the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A thunderstorm rages outside as a mysterious visitor arrives at the Lorraine Motel, forcing Dr. King to confront his destiny and his legacy. It's the story of crocodile tongues, horrible aunts, a ravenous rhinoceros and James who is miserable...until something peculiar happens involving a giant peach and group of talking insects! James and his diverse insect buddies work together to take the most wonderful and extraordinary journey they could ever imagine.

Halsted St. The production features ensemble member Alan Wilder with Jessica Honor Carleton, Derrick C. Cooper, Walter Coppage, Ann Joseph, Loren Lazerine, Colm O'Reilly, Jay Reed, Robert Schleifer and Nick Vidal. Weekday matinees (Tuesdays through Fridays) are reserved for school groups only, with weekend (Saturday and Sunday) performances available to the public. Single tickets and tickets for school groups are currently on sale.
