New York City Center's 2012-13 season will open on September 27 with the ninth annual Fall for Dance Festival, featuring 20 acclaimed international and U.S. dance companies and choreographers in five programs for only $15 a ticket. City Center will celebrate the 20th season of its acclaimed Tony Award-winning Encores! series on November 12 with a Gala benefit starring Raul Esparza and Kelli O'Hara. The Encores! Anniversary Season will open on January 30, 2013, with Fiorello!, the show that launched the series in 1994, and will continue with It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman, followed by On Your Toes.

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) will present their July Cabaret Series and "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music" this weekend. Broadway and television actor Jason Kravits (Relatively Speaking, "The Practice") will host "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music", a little over one week after what would have been Oscar Hammerstein II's 117th birthday, tonight, July 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). The presentation will be preceded by a special outdoor BBQ Style dinner hosted by Hamilton's Grill Room beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Producing Artistic Director Connor Mickiewicz today announced three monumental changes for New Helvetia Theatre: NHT has found a home at the Studio Theatre at 1028 R Street in Sacramento, is presenting groundbreaking programming with The Eureka Project and the first annual Sacramento New Works Festival, and welcomes new Associate Producer Matthew Schneider.

Kandel, Executive Producer; John McCormack, Producing Artistic Director) will present SUMMER SHORTS 2012, their sixth annual festival of new American short plays from established and emerging writers, at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street). Performances will begin Thursday July 26th, and continue through Saturday September 1st.

Legendary actor George Hamilton, a major film star since the late 50s, is currently treading the boards in the national tour of La Cage Aux Folles, opening July 11 at the Pantages Theatre. Known for such film hits as Love at First Bite, Zorro the Gay Blade, All the Fine Young Cannibals, Light in the Piazza, Where the Boys Are, Your Cheatin' Heart, and Crime and Punishment USA, Hamilton has been referred to as more 'famous for his debonair style and his perfect and perpetual suntan'. He admits to it himself and in our chat, with his self-deprecating sense of humor, jokes and tells very amusing anecdotes.

Last night, July 2, was the Bucks County Playhouse re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as the first performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The first production of the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) 2012 summer season, A Grand Night for Singing will run through Sunday, July 29th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place 73 years and a day after The Playhouse first opened in 1939. Special guests included Mayor Laurence Keller (New Hope), Chris Hart (son of Moss Hart), Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Cawley, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district), and Will Hammerstein (Grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II). VENUS IN FUR, the critically acclaimed play by Tony Award nominee David Ives, directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, ended its triumphant run on Sunday at the Lyceum Theatre. VENUS IN FUR has been licensed and is in negotiation to be produced in over 40 regional theatres across the US and Canada with plans underway for productions in 26 different countries. It has been translated into many languages including French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, and German. In addition, plans for a London production are underway.
