New York Stage and Film (Johanna Pfaelzer, Artistic Director; Thomas Pearson, Executive Director; Mark Linn-Baker, Max Mayer, Leslie Urdang, Producing Directors) and Vassar College (Ed Cheetham, Producing Director) have announced the line-up of their 2013 Powerhouse Theater Season, which includes new works from actor, writer and prolific, Grammy Award-winning musician Steve Martin and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of Broadway'sIn the Heights, among many others. The 2013 Powerhouse Theater Season runs from June 21st - July 28th at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, New York), and a full calendar and description of events are below. The Alexander Children's Theatre School (ACTS) of Concord, MA has announced their Spring, 2013 production of Footloose: The Musical. The production will run for four performances, May 31 through June 2, at the Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts.

According to The New York Times, Vassar's Powerhouse Theater will showcase an impressive lineup for its 2013 season, running June 21 to July 28. A new musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, and two others by writers Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman, and Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, will take the stage for Vassar College and New York Stage and Film.

This morning the Cannes Film Festival announced the 66th Official Selection titles. Among the selections premiering at the festival will be Roman Polanski's upcoming big screen adaptation of VENUS IN FUR, starring Emmanuelle Seigner and Mathieu Amalric.

Tony winner Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, The American Plan) and MTC begin their 10th collaboration with the world-premiere production of The Assembled Parties. MTC Artistic Director Lynne Meadow (Wit, Collected Stories) directs the cast that includes Tony nominee Jessica Hecht (A View from the Bridge, Harvey), Tony and 2-time Emmy winner Judith Light (Other Desert Cities, Lombardi) and Tony nominee Jeremy Shamos (Glengarry Glen Ross, Clybourne Park).

Christine Baranski, Kelli Barrett, Walter Bobbie, Jeremy Cohen, Dalton Harrod, Randy Skinner, Shonn Wiley, Karen Ziemba,New York City Ballet Principaldancer Joaquin De Luz and American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Irina Dvorovenkowill star in Rodgers and Hart's On Your Toes, the final Encores! presentation of the 2012-13 New York City Center season. Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, On Your Toes will have guest music direction by Encores! founding music director Rob Fisher and will play seven performances, from May 8 - 12 at New York City Center, W. 55th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). The "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" ballet, originally choreographed by George Balanchine, will be staged by Susan Pilarre, who served as a Ballet Mistress of the show's 1983 Broadway Revival.

Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will produce the world-premiere of the musical THE LANDING this fall, with music by the Tony Award-winning composer John Kander and book and lyrics by Greg Pierce, kicking off the company's 2013-14 season, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, The Vineyard's Artistic Director, and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director.

Mimi Stuart, Artistic Director of The Children's Acting Academy, is the Producer. The production is directed by Evan Ross. Wilber Escobar is the choreographer. The Music Director is Mitchell Raftery.

Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton is set to make her Broadway debut in her solo performance piece, 'The Maybe'.

Broadway and television actress Anastasia Barzee premieres "Barzee Sings Bacharach" in a prime-time major engagement at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, beginning April 18. Created in consultation with Bacharach, the show spans decades of the hit-maker's many classics while offering a glimpse at some of his newest, never-before recorded songs. The world premiere of "Barzee Sings Bacharach" performs Thursday, Friday, Saturday April 18, 19 and 20 at 7pm, and Wednesday April 24 at 9:30pm.

Venus in Fur, written by theatrical mastermind David Ives opens in the Historic Asolo Theater Friday, April 5 and runs through April 28, 2013. Two preview performances are scheduled for April 3 and 4. Tea Alagi?, an exciting new talent originally from the Czech Republic, directs this comedy that explores the complex relationship between an aspiring stage actress and her playwright/director.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today that their critically-acclaimed new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical PASSION, directed by John Doyle (director of the acclaimed Broadway revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company), will extend by popular demand through Sunday, April 14 at CSC (136 East 13th Street).
