The Vineyard Theatre world-premiere production of the musical THE LANDING - with book and lyrics by Greg Pierce, music by John Kander and directed by Walter Bobbie - will conclude its acclaimed run with a special VIP benefit reception for patrons following the final performance on Sunday, November 24 at 3 p.m. at The Vineyard. As a holiday treat, Diablo Theatre Company offers up the delightful A Grand Night for Singing, a romantic, entertaining revue of music by Rodgers and Hammerstein, the duo who created songs that are standards of musical theater and American popular culture. The show will run November 29-December 7 at Walnut Creek's Lesher Center for the Arts.

The Landing is an evening of three one-act chamber musicals, each with a twist, and in this interview Theater Talk's guests each share about his role in bringing the inventive show, that Ben Brantley called "an elegantly slender production," to life.

CHICAGO, which opened to rave reviews on November 14, 1996, now has the distinction of being the longest running American musical in Broadway history and shows no sign of slowing down. The purely entertaining show returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts January 28 - February 2, 2014 and will star award-winning actor and star of stage, TV & film, John O' Hurley, reprising the role of Billy Flynn.

Beginning Monday, October 28, Broadway's Tony Award-winning, record-breaking smash hit musical CHICAGO will welcome two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald in the starring role of Roxie's all-but-invisible husband, 'Mister Cellophane' Amos Hart.

Today in 1998, Footloose opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where it ran for 709 performances. Footloose is a 1998 musical based on the 1984 film of the same name. The music is by Tom Snow (among others), the lyrics by Dean Pitchford (with additional lyrics by Kenny Loggins), and the book by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie. Opening night is set for Wednesday, November 20, at 7pm; the production is now scheduled to run through December 15.
