Flashpoint Theatre Company opens its 2010-2011 season with the premiere of Run, Mourner, Run by Tarell Alvin McCraney on October 27-November 20 at Second Stage at the Adrienne (2030 Sansom Street). On Nov. 18, "Back in the Army Cabaret" arrives at Society Hill Playhouse's Red Room for a two-week holiday run. From the barracks bunks to the girl they left behind, this hour-long show explores the public -- and private -- longings of men in uniform through classic Army songs of World War II.

The original "LOST" show comes to Ambler, as Act II Playhouse presents William Shakespeare's shipwrecked island play, The Tempest.

The 1955 film version directed by Charles Laughton (his only time behind the camera) and starring Robert Mitchum and Shelley Winters has gone on to be named one of the 100 greatest films of the 20th Century. Now Stephen Cole (book & lyrics) and Claibe Richardson (music) have adapted Grubb's novel into a musical thriller. Lyric Stage is proud to present this great new American musical, winner of the prestigious Edward Kleban Award, with a full orchestra. Davis Gaines will star as The Preacher (Mitchum) opposite Theatre World Award winner Julie Johnson as Willa Harper (Winters). Cheryl Denson will direct Lyric Stage's production with music direction by Scott A. Eckert.
