Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer and Managing Director Maggie Boland announce the full lineup for Signature Theatre's 2017/18 season.

This upcoming weekend, the South Bend Civic Theatre will be opening their newest drama, A Streetcar Named Desire, by Tennessee Williams. The director of the production, Aaron Nichols, had these words to share on the play that is considered one of the greatest works of theatre from the 20th century:

Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Mike Isaacson will be presented The Commercial Theater Institute's Robert Whitehead Award for 'outstanding achievement in commercial theatre producing' at a reception at Sardi's on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. It was initially scheduled for March 14th but was rescheduled due to snowstorm Stella.

Remy Bumppo and Silk Road Rising are pleased to announce that they are joining artistic forces to bring the American premiere of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, adapted by Tanika Gupta, to Chicago.

Olivier Award-winning director, Robert Icke's (Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia, Mr Burns and 1984), ground-breaking and electrifying production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring BAFTA award-winner Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC's Sherlock, Denial, Spectre, Design For Living and Cock) in the title role, will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, following a critically acclaimed and sell out run at the Almeida Theatre.

The University of Washington School of Drama will present Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of Orlando by Virginia Woolf, directed by School of Drama Professor and CIVIC REP Artistic Director L. Zane Jones. The production runs April 28th - May 7th at the historic Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theatre on the University of Washington campus. 

The Royal Ballet arrives in Australia, direct from London, this winter for an exclusive residency at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) from Thursday 29 June to Sunday 9 July 2017.

An appropriate celebration of Women's History Month, From Eve's Fair Hand introduces women like Amelia Bassano Lanier; Lady Mary Wroth; Aphra Behn; George Sands (nom-de-plume of Amantine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin); Gertrude Stein; Virginia Woolf; and Vita Sackville-West; women who dared to write-while-female in eras when that act was considered one of non-conformity or rebellion.

The Other Theatre Company (TOTC) announces the Chicago premiere of Threesome, written by Yussef El Guindi and direction by Jason Gerace, April 14 - May 21 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Previews are Friday, April 14, Saturday, April 15, Thursday, April 20, Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m. Opening day is Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. The performance is 85 minutes with no intermission. The regular performance schedule, April 27 - May 21, is Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets for previews are $25 and for the regular run $30. Today we remember Dame Elizabeth Taylor who passed away on this day in 2011 at the age of 79.

The Arena Players Repertory Theater's 2017 spring season continues as we proudly present Edward Albee's 'The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?', which opens Friday, April 14th at 8:00 p.m. in the Carriage House Theater at the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum, 180 Little Neck Road, Centerport, N.Y.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, continues its 2016/17 season with The Mystery of Love & Sex written by Bathsheba Doran and directed by Marti Lyons. The production runs April 5 - July 2, 2017 in The Gillian Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe. The Press Opening is Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

One of Arthur Miller's enduring classics will return to The Warehouse Theatre's main stage on March 24th, 2017 for a four-week run. The show's opening will mark the rst time Chip Egan and Mimi Wyche have shared a stage since 2010 when they performed in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

The Crusade of Connor Stephens, a new play written and directed by Dewey Moss, will begin an open-ended run at Off-Broadway's Jerry Orbach Theater at The Theater Center on June 17, 2017. Opening night is scheduled for June 26.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announces the fourth edition of Art of the Real, an essential showcase for boundary-pushing nonfiction film, April 20 - May 2.

On March 31, EgoPo presents Anna, a World Premiere adaptation of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina. Playwright and Director Brenna Geffers brings literature's greatest heroine to new life with the help of a wandering theater troupe armed with a collection of rickety antiques and instruments. They perform the story, set in the shifting landscape of Imperial Russia, to seek refuge from their own unsettling world. You are invited on their journey, and Anna's, as they travel together toward the story's unavoidable end. Anna previews March 29-30 and opens Friday, March 31. The show runs three weeks, closing on Sunday, April 16. Tickets start at $25. Performances are at the Latvian Society Theater on 7th and Spring Garden.

Following the enormously successful opening of James Macdonald's new production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? starring Imelda Staunton, Conleth Hill, Imogen Poots and Luke Treadaway, producers today announced the forthcoming live broadcast of the play to cinemas throughout the UK and beyond as part of National Theatre Live.
