High School Drama: Davidson Academy's Spotlight Award-Winning ALEXANDRA CHOPSON

As the school year winds down, and students are scattered to the winds this summer, Davidson Academy's Alexandra Chopson closes out the year on a definite high: Last Saturday night, she was presented the Spotlight Award for best supporting actress in a musical at the Nashville High School Musical Theatre Awards for her performance as Wednesday Addams in her school's production of The Addams Family.

Arthur Miller's BROKEN GLASS to Play Theater J in June

From June 14-July 9, Theater J is producing Broken Glass, one of the only plays by Arthur Miller to directly incorporate Jewish characters and history.   The most recent major production of this 1994 drama was in 2011 in London, where critics gave it strong reviews.

The Society for the Preservation of Theatrical History in association with New Perspectives Theatre Company (NPTC) is pleased to present a limited run engagement of STAGE STRUCK: Reclaiming the History of Women in Theatre written and performed by Paula Ewin*, Ginger Grace*, Mari Lyn Henry, Judy Rosenblatt*, and Sandhi Santini. Mark Rylance to Reign on Broadway in FARINELLI AND THE KING This Winter

Mark Rylance, three-time Tony Award winner (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing, Twelfth Night) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies), will return to Broadway in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING, a new play with music by author and composer Claire van Kampen, it was announced today by producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Black.
