The Yard presents H.O.W. JOURNAL 7/25

In collaboration with The Yard for the second year in a row, H.O.W. Journal invites you to Twigs, Trees, and Trailblazers, a festive benefit fundraiser event and celebration of HOW Journal's Issue 13. H.O.W. Journal was founded in 2006 and is an art and literary journal that publishes an eclectic mix of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art of prominent and upcoming writers with an effort to raise money for needy children throughout the world. This year, H.O.W. Journal marries dance with literature and honors fearless women throughout history. The event includes dance pieces by Alison Manning and Jesse Keller Jason´s company, DanceTheYard, and readings by acclaimed writers Daphne Merkin, Amy Kurzweil, Victoria Redel, John Reed, and Tiphanie Yanique.

Uma Thurman to Make Broadway Debut in HOUSE OF CARDS Creator's THE PARISIAN WOMAN

Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman (Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, 'Imposters') will make her Broadway debut this fall in The Parisian Woman, the electrifying new power play by 'House of Cards' creator Beau Willimon (Farragut North, Ides of March), directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Clybourne Park).

Today's subject, Gregory Linington, is currently living his theatre life onstage at Theater J playing Harry Hyman, the doctor with a big heart and strong attraction to one of his patients, in Arthur Miller's rarely produced Broken Glass. The production has been extended and now runs through July 16th.

Save the date! The Drama League has announced that the organization's 34th Annual Benefit Gala: A Musical Celebration of Broadway will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in New York City at the The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue).

Edward Albee's AT HOME AT THE ZOO Coming to BTG's Unicorn Theatre This Month

Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) presents Pulitzer Prize-winning American playwright, Edward Albee's (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?), At Home at the Zoo (Zoo story), directed by Eric Hill (BTG: The Homecoming, Thoreau or, Return to Walden; Poe), and featuring David Adkins (BTG: Thoreau or, Return to Walden; Poe), Joey Collins (The Glass Menagerie; BTG: The Homecoming) and Tara Franklin (BTG: The Homecoming, Lion in Winter, Equus). At Home at the Zoo (Zoo story) runs from July 19 through August 26 at The Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, MA. Opening night is set for Saturday, July 22.

Second Thought to Close 2017 Season with World Premiere of THE NECESSITIES

Second Thought Theatre closes its 2017 season of change with the world premiere of The Necessities by Dallas-based playwright and artist Blake Hackler. Joel Ferrell, Associate Artistic Director for the Dallas Theater Center, returns to direct after previously directing Othello and Gruesome Playground Injuries for the company.

LATE COMPANY to Transfer to the West End this August

Following its critically acclaimed and sold-out European premiere at Finborough Theatre in April/May 2017, Stage Traffic's production of Late Company, by the award-winning playwright Jordan Tannahill, will transfer for its West End debut at Trafalgar Studios 2 for a strictly limited run from 21 August - 16 September 2017, with press night on Thursday 24 August.

Taylor Mac's HIR Gets Chicago Premiere This Summer at Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere production of Hir, a subversive comedy by celebrated playwright, actor, singer-songwriter and performance artist Taylor Mac. Directed by Steppenwolf Artistic Producer Hallie Gordon, the cast features ensemble members Francis Guinan (Arnold) and Amy Morton (Paige) with Em Grosland (Max) and Michael Holding (Isaac).
