Austin Film Festival Announces Full 25th Anniversary Film and Conference Schedule

Austin Film Festival & Writers Conference (AFF), the premier film festival recognizing the writers' contributions to film, television, and new media, announced today the full schedule of films and panels for the 25th Anniversary festival, this October 25-November 1. AFF's feature film slate includes 23 World, North American, and US Premieres, a robust retrospective series, and highly anticipated marquee titles, including Steve McQueen's and Gillian Flynn's modern-day thriller Widows, Peter Farrelly's dramedy period piece Green Book starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen, Mike Leigh's period piece Peterloo,  Mickey Rourke-starring boxing drama Tiger, Paul Dano's Wildlife starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan, and Julia Roberts and Lucas Hedges family drama Ben is Back bowing as AFF's Centerpiece selection, with writer/director Peter Hedges in attendance.

The Story of Legendary Street Artist KEN FOSTER Told in New Doc, on VOD Today

Gravitas Ventures and Devilworks have announced the US Cable VOD and Digital HD release of Josh Laner's gut-wrenching documentary Ken Foster, known to locals as Vancouver's Vincent Van Gogh.  Shot over the course of eighteen months, Laner followed Ken through the streets of Vancouver, documenting his creative process. The result is some of the most stark, visceral footage to ever come out of Vancouver's notorious Downtown Eastside. This documentary features interviews, interactions and the rabbit hole that is the creative process of a broken artist.

Stage Door Theatre Presents DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS This Fall

Stage Door Theatre's move to the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC) has proved to be the right one, according to the company's Executive Producer, Derelle Bunn.  'Our patrons' responses have been totally positive,' she says.  'They love the venue, the ambiance, and the conveniences LPAC offers them.  They've all promised they'll be back, and that they'll be bringing their friends!'

THE VOICE Finalist Wé McDonald to Jam with ROCKTOPIA National Tour

ROCKTOPIA is thrilled to announce that NBC's "The Voice" finalist We McDonald will be joining the show's National Tour next month. Direct from its smash-hit run on Broadway, the international music sensation kicks off its fall tour on October 18, 2018 at Bergen County Performing Arts Center in New Jersey. Nineteen-year-old McDonald joins the previously announced guest star Dee Snider from Twisted Sister for all tour stops, which include the Tilles Center in New York (October 20), Palace Theater in Pennsylvania (October 24), Akron Civic Theatre in Ohio (October 25), Youngstown Powers Memorial Auditorium in Ohio (October 26), and  KeyBank State Theatre at Playhouse Square in Ohio (October 27).

Full Casting Announced For West End's CAROLINE OR CHANGE

Full casting has been announced for Caroline, Or Change, the celebrated musical written by Tony Kushner, author of Angels in America, with a soaring score from Tony Award-winning Jeanine Tesori, which will run at the West End's Playhouse Theatre from 20 November 2018 to 9 February 2019.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey continues its 56th season with its fourth Main Stage production, Buried Child. This will mark the first time the Theatre has presented a play by Sam Shepard, who passed away last year. Paul Mullins returns to direct. Veteran company member Sherman Howard leads a cast that features returning company members Anthony Marble and Carol Halstead, as well as Roger Clark, Paul Cooper, Michael Dale, and Andrea Morales, all of whom are making their STNJ debut. NewFest 2018 Announces Full Lineup For Their 30th Anniversary

Following the announcement of their Opening Night Film, Yen Tan's award-winning AIDS drama 1985, NewFest today announced the full lineup of their 30th annual celebration of the year's best LGBT films from around the world. The program of more than 140 narrative features, documentaries, episodic series and shorts runs from October 24-30 at the SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, and The LGBT Community Center in New York City.
