Manoa Valley Theatre Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Manoa Valley Theatre is celebrating its momentous 50th Anniversary with a play season filled with star-studded audience favorites, Broadway blockbusters and compelling dramas that herald the next half-century for the noted Off-Broadway playhouse. During its anniversary season, MVT will present a spectrum of multi- disciplinary experiences including musical comedies, historical dramas and audience participation events. New collaborations and partnerships are just two of the many features of the season. In what will be a world premiere, MVT has commissioned an original script, Shipment Day, about well-known leprosy activist Olivia Robello Breitha and Hawaii's leprosy history. It will also produce the Hawaii premiere of Allegiance, a Broadway musical about the Japanese American internment during WWII and one family's extraordinarily divisive experience.
Mariinsky Ballet's Kimin Kim To Star In SONG OF THE MERMAID

K'Arts Ballet of Korea will present the American premiere of Song of the Mermaid, a fantasy ballet choreographed by SunHee Kim, running October 20 and 21 at New York City Center. Song of the Mermaid, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's beloved tale “The Little Mermaid,” will star Kimin Kim, principal dancer of Mariinsky Ballet, and feature 40 dancers and an original score composed by Hana Ryou.
Boston Ballet Announces 2018–2019 Company Roster

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces the 2018–2019 season roster. A total of 66 dancers make up the Company roster, with 56 in the main company and ten in Boston Ballet II (BBII), Boston Ballet's second company. Five new dancers join the main company, six new dancers join BBII, and five Boston Ballet dancers received promotions for the upcoming season.

Rose Theatre Kingston today announces the full cast for Nick Dear's double-bill Hogarth's Progress. Anthony Banks directs Bryan Dick as the younger William Hogarth in the first major UK revival of Dear's acclaimed comedy The Art of Success, which follows Hogarth through a bawdy night in 1730 and Keith Allen as the older William Hogarth in the world premiere of The Taste of the Town which rejoins the now hugely successful artist 30 years later towards the end of his career. THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - has announced the New York debut of THE BONES, a new band featuring Alison Luff and Matt Magnusson, on Thursday, July 12 at 7:00 PM. Their concert will trace how Alison - currently starring on Broadway in Escape to Margaritaville - and Matt - recently seen as Kenickie in the Toronto revival of Grease - met, fell in love, formed a indie pop band, and eloped in the fall of 2015. The Bones is a blend of their individual styles of music and is best described as a synergistic expression of their love for one another. After only knowing each other three weeks they recorded their first demos at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles. This summer they are in the process of recording their debut full-length album.

The second and final wave of TEEN CHOICE TM 2018 nominees have been announced and music artists Cardi B and Selena Gomez lead with four nominations each. In film, "The Greatest Showman," "Black Panther" and "Solo: A Star Wars Story" each received four nods. "Riverdale" leads in television with seven nominations, while "Stranger Things" follows with five and "The Bold Type" with four.
