The New York based Kairos Italy Theater and the Italy-based KIT Italia will present the seventh annual In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, a festival of Italian theater taking place in all five boroughs of NYC, April 29-May 13. Participating venues will include The Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance (BAAD! - 2474 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461), Goddard Riverside's Bernie Wohl Center (647 Columbus Avenue, New York, NY 10024), The Brick Theater (579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211), Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo at NYU (24 West 12th Street, New York, NY 10011), Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, New York, NY 10014), College of Staten Island (2800 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314), Italian Cultural Institute (686 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10021), La Scuola Guglielmo Marconi (406 East 67th St, New York, NY 10065), St. John's Lutheran Church (81 Christopher Street, New York, NY 10014), and TheaterLab (357 West 36th Street, New York, NY 10018), with more venues TBA. The production transfers to the reconfigured Playhouse Theatre from 21 March for a limited run - with over 25,000 tickets at £20 or less across the run. The production, which opens on 27 March, with previews from 21 March, and is booking until 15 June, is currently running at the Menier, where it completes its sell-out run on 9 March.

In advance of the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour session tomorrow, Freeform announces the pickup to series of the reboot of fan-favorite “Party of Five” from the original creators, Amy Lippman and Chris Keyser. From Sony Pictures Television, the one-hour drama will follow the five Acosta children (fka Buendia) as they navigate daily life struggles to survive as a family unit after their parents are suddenly deported to Mexico. The series stars Brandon Larracuente as Emilio, Emily Tosta as Lucia, Niko Guardado as Beto and Elle Paris Legaspi as Valentina. The pilot was co-written by Lippman, Keyser and newcomer Michal Zebede.

On Saturday, January 19, 2019, the Brooklyn Music School (BMS)community came together at the historic Brooklyn Music School Playhouse Theater (126 Saint Felix Street, Brooklyn, NY) to honor and pay tribute to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with the 17th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Concert. The concert showcased the BMS Students and the great variety of musical programs that the school offers - from the BMS Orchestra opening the show to the newest adult ensemble, Motown Mondays, headlining the concert. Students of all level, talent, and instrument shined brightly as they paid tribute to the inspiring legacy and words of Dr. King.
