Broadway's Holler If Ya Hear Me, the new musical inspired by the lyrics of Tupac Shakur, has donated tickets to performances on July 4th and 5th to the USO of Metropolitan New York. These tickets will be given to members of the military from bases in the New York area in recognition of their generous service to the community and the work they do all year long.

The Florida Orchestra Names Michael Francis as Its New Music Director

The Florida Orchestra (TFO) has announced the appointment of Michael Francis as its new Music Director starting with the 2015/2016 season, serving as Music Director Designate for the upcoming 2014/2015 season. Appointed as part of an initial three-year contract, his duties include being the primary conductor and providing the artistic leadership for concert programming and related artistic decisions. Although his primary role is with the Tampa Bay Times Masterworks series, he will also be conducting one concert each season for the Raymond James Pops and the morning Coffee Concert series. This reflects Francis' personal desire to be fully-integrated artistically with the orchestra and the organization.

Telemundo Studios has announced the start of filming of 'Los Miserables,' starring Aracely Arambula, Erik Hayser, Aylin Mujica and Aaron Diaz. Set in modern times, 'Los Miserables' is a melodrama about the life of an innocent woman hounded by the law who must use all her cunning to fight back, hide and prove her integrity to her pursuer, who is also the man she loves. Written by Valentina Párraga ('La Patrona') and filmed entirely in Mexico, the story is inspired by the epic drama by French novelist Victor Hugo, a leading figure in romantic literature.
