The celebration will include a diverse array of ASC artists ranging from members of the original Shenandoah Shakespeare Express touring company to recent ASC Theatre Camp students.

The Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) is proud to announce the appointment of Carl Cofield as Associate Artistic Director. Cofield comes to the organization with a long history of directing for CTH and regional theaters across America. He is also a theater instructor and is currently on faculty at The New School and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. CTH welcomes Cofield to further expand the mission and vision of the company.

The mega-musical opened on London's West End...and closed a month later. WHOOPS! 'Desperately Seeking the Exit' is Pete's critically acclaimed true story of the making and unmaking of his notorious flop that played everywhere from the USA, to the UK, to Australia. At this special reading, the show gets a new twist as his roller coaster tale is joined by the talents of chanteuse/impressionist Christina Bianco, Time Out NY Theater Critic Adam Feldman, Broadway/solo star Alison Fraser, Classical Theatre of Harlem's Ty Jones, noted storyteller David Lawson, and solo star Amy Marcs.
Bringing together over 1,000 young choristers, the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) presents its 15th annual, year-end concert for the citywide YPC School Choruses program at The World Famous Apollo Theater (253 West 125th Street) on Thursday, May 17, at 10:45 a.m. The program is directed year-round by YPC Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Nuñez, and the upcoming concert showcases the musical growth of its participants-New York City elementary- and middle-school children-over the course of the school year, during which YPC-trained music educators teach them how to read and write music, sing with healthy vocal technique, and perform as a group.

A new Shakespeare festival emphasizing inclusivity and diversity is being launched by New York Shakespeare Exchange (NYSX) this spring. Running from April 23 through May 19, the 1st annual Shakespeare for Everyone Festival will have as its centerpiece the world premieres of eight new short plays in heightened language by a group of authors who identify with social, ethnic or gender-based communities with limited interaction with mainstream Shakespeare work and fields of study.
