PIXIE Lott is to star in a new production of Breakfast At Tiffany's, coming to The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury.

Pixie Lott will star as Holly Golightly in a limited 12-week season of Breakfast at Tiffany's at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London's West End in 2016.  This will follow the first UK and Ireland tour of Truman Capote's classic tale brought to life so memorably by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film.  It will be presented in a co-production with the Curve Theatre, Leicester.  The novella has been adapted for the stage by Pulitzer Prize-winning Finalist and Tony and Olivier Award-winning playwright Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain), and contains memorable songs from the era as well as original music by Grant Odling (One Man, Two Guvnors). 

Today, in a special edition of The Friday Five (on Wednesday), we introduce two actors from The Gaslight Dinner Theatre's upcoming production of A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline: Linda Sue Simmons (my favorite Miss Chattanooga of all time) and Curtis LeMoine-Reed. Directed by Greg Frey, the musical - filled with some of Patsy Cline's best-loved hits that will transport you back to her starry heyday in the 1960s - opens Thursday afternoon at The Renaissance Center in Dickson.

The award winning Chromolume Theatre will partner with Michael-Anthony Nozzi and Robert Morse on bringing the Tony Award winning Tru to life for six performances only as part of the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

A poignant look at justice and the human spirit as told through the eyes of a young girl, Christopher Sergel's stage adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird, the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee, continues this summer's 'Americana' season at Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum, opening June 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Today we are saluting an iconic stage and screen star in honor of his 84th birthday this week, Robert Morse.

Civic Theatre of Allentown will continue its 2014-2015 season with nearly a dozen unique events. When TRU premiered on Broadway, Robert Morse won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding One-Person Show for his tour-de-force portrayal of Truman Capote. For his performance in the 1992 American Playhouse presentation of TRU, Morse won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie. As a way to pay it forward, Morse is acting as the Creative Consultant for the all-new run of TRU at the Primitive Stage in Woodland Hills starring Michael-Anthony Nozzi who gives his own tour-de-force performance as the lonely writer.

The Boston Globe Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA) recently announced the winners of its 2015 program distinguishing Massachusetts's top student artists and writers. These nearly 2,000 young writers and artists, whose work was selected from over 15,000 other submissions, will be recognized in The Boston Globe and the Gold Key winning works will be featured as part of a special exhibition hosted by the 808 Gallery at Boston University.

NEW YORK, NY—February 17, 2015—Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company, has acquired North American rights to 19-year-old Aija Mayrock's self-published ebook, The Survival Guide to Bullying. The revised Scholastic edition (The Survival Guide to Bullying: Revised Edition) will be published simultaneously in paperback and ebook formats in July 2015, with a hardcover library edition to follow in September 2015. The deal was negotiated by Debra Dorfman, VP and Publisher, Scholastic, and Jay Kramer for Aija Mayrock.
