Greg Kotis' PIG FARM to Receive West End Premiere, October 21

Dead Posh Productions is thrilled to be bringing Pig Farm, by Tony Award® winning writer Greg Kotis, to the St. James Theatre for its UK Premiere. Dead Posh Productions will be co-producing alongside Julian Stoneman Associates, who brought the smash hit Urinetown The Musical, by the same author and to the same theatre, before its transfer to the Apollo Theatre. Pig Farm has a limited run at the St. James Theatre from 21 October until 21 November, with press night on 28 October. The creative team and full casting will beannounced in due course.

As reported yesterday, Tony Award-nominee Montego Glover and Alex Finke will join Alfie Boe, the internationally-acclaimed performer who takes over the role of Jean Valjean in Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's Les Miserables, on Sept 1. Glover succeeds Erika Henningsen as Fantine, while Finke (making her Broadway debut) replaces original cast member Samantha Hill. Tony Award-nominee Montego Glover (Memphis) will assume the role of Fantine beginning Tuesday, September 1 in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES, now in its second year at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). She succeeds Erika Henningsen in the role. Glover, who also received the Drama Desk and Outer Critics' Circle Awards for her acclaimed performance in Memphis, most recently co-starred on Broadway in the musical It Shoulda Been You. Also on September 1, Alex Finke makes her Broadway debut in the role of Cosette, succeeding Samantha Hill.

As previously announced, Beverley Knight is to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats to play the role of Grizabella. Returning to the London Palladium from 23 October 2015, Lloyd Webber's acclaimed new production of Cats will run for a strictly limited 11 week season until 2 January 2016. Following Onstage Collapse, Peter Land Departs RUTHLESS! Off-Broadway

RUTHLESS! The Musical's leading man, Peter Land, collapsed onstage at the top of the second act on Friday evening, July 17th. EMT's arrived on the scene and Mr. Land was transported to the hospital where he received emergency surgery for a tear in the aorta. His recovery is going extremely well and he was even discharged from the hospital earlier this week. Paul Pecorino has assumed the role of Sylvia St. Croix and Mr. Land hopes to return to the show in the near future. Author Joel Paley bravely filled in for several performances in the week following the accident (triumphantly, according to all eyewitnesses).
BWW Interviews: Book Writer Christian Struppeck About New Collaboration with Stephen Schwartz in Vienna - EMANUEL & ELEONORE

Internationally renowned, Oscar- Grammy- and Golden Globe winning composer Stephen Schwartz is currently developing a brand new musical that is set to premier in the fall of 2016 in Vienna. The project is a collaboration with Christian Struppeck, artistic director of the Vereinigte Buhnen Wien (VBW), who is also writing the book for the show, and british star-director Trevor Nunn. The musical is centered on the live of the theater couple Emanuel and Eleonore Schikaneder, who were some of the most influencial people in the opera and theater world in the 18th Century Vienna, and the creation of one of the most famous opera pieces in history, The Magic Flute. The production is produced in-house by the VBW and I recently had the opportunty to spreak to book writer and artistic director Christian Struppeck about this exciting new musical and the international cooperation with Stephen Schwartz and Trevor Nunn.

Evie Hone and Lizzie Wells will join Anna-Louise Knight and Lara McDonnell in the title role of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical from Tuesday 15 September 2015. Joining the four actresses will be Michael Begley (Mr Wormwood), Miria Parvin (Miss Honey) and Rebecca Thornhill (Mrs Wormwood). Craige Els will continue in the role of Miss Trunchbull.
