Rose Theatre Kingston has announced several new productions for 2016. Trevor Nunn returns to the venue to direct Shakespeare's KING JOHN, while John Malkovich makes his London directorial stage debut with the English-language premiere of Zach Helm's GOOD CANARY, and acclaimed American director Michael Rudman presenting the first Arthur Miller play staged at the Rose.

Hampstead Theatre presents the UK premiere of David Lindsay-Abaire's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama RABBIT HOLE, directed by Edward Hall. Claire Skinner (as Becca) and Alison Steadman (as Nat, Becca's mother) star in the production, which begins previews tonight, January 29, 2016. Edward Hall directs.

British actor Earl Carpenter, who originated the role of Inspector Javert in the reimagined production of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil's book-to-stage adaptation of LES MISERABLES (LES MIS) and abruptly left the Broadway production last November due to a neck injury (cervical vertebrae impingement), will rejoin the company of the new production of LES MIS in its first Asian Tour (Manila-Singapore), which has been set to kick off at The Theatre at Solaire, Solaire Resort and Casino, in Manila from Friday, March 11, until Sunday, April 17.

Final casting has now been announced for the 2016 national tour of Terence Rattigan's FLARE PATH, directed by Justin Audibert, opening on 27 January at the Connaught Theatre in Worthing. Daniel Fraser will play Teddy Graham and Audrey Palmer will play Mrs Oakes.  Daniel played Gregory Cromwell in the acclaimed RSC productions of Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies in Stratford, London and on Broadway.  He also appeared in Chariots of Fire at Hampstead Theatre and in the West End and starred in the Sci-Fi films Frequencies and Lab Rats and the thriller Scar Tissue.

Ellie Nunn, daughter of Shakespearean legend Sir Trevor Nunn, is making her West End Shakespeare debut in the role of Viola for Grassroots Shakespeare London as part of Shakespeare 400. The role was memorably played by her mother, Imogen Stubbs in the 1996 film directed by Sir Trevor.

As previously reported, The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization have confirmed that CATS, one of the biggest hits in theatrical history, will return to Broadway this summer at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street). Preview performances will begin July 14, with an official opening set for August 2, 2016. Coventry's Belgrade Theatre is banishing the winter blues with a brand new production of Moliere's rarely performed romantic comedy, The Sisterhood, which will be directed by Artistic Director Hamish Glen and runs from Sat 30 Jan - Sat 20 Feb 2016 in B2.

Final names are announced today for Seasons of Larson, a one-off concert celebrating the life and music of legendary Broadway composer Jonathan Larson. The concert will take place on Monday 25 January 2016 at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue.

Rehearsals recently began for Theatre for a New Audience's production of William Shakespeare's PERICLES directed by Trevor Nunn, featuring OBIE Award-winner Christian Camargo in the title role and leading a diverse company of 22 actors. PERICLES begins previews February 14 for an opening February 25. It is scheduled to run through March 27. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the company in rehearsal below!

Theatre for a New Audience will present a live taping of the podcast Person Place Thing with host Randy Cohen interviewing internationally acclaimed director Trevor Nunn on Sunday, January 24, at 7:00pm at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.  Tickets are $15 for the general public and $12 for Theatre for a New Audience subscribers.

There has been an increased interest for tickets to behemoth, long-running musical LES MISERABLES (LES MIS) since its major producer Cameron Mackintosh and Philippine partner Concertus Manila announced last September that the acclaimed Australian touring production of the the revamped 25th anniversary production of LES MIS, which must close this Sunday, January 17, at the Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre in Brisbane will transfer to The Theatre at Solaire, Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila starting Friday, March 11. Due to the high demand for tickets, which can be purchased at TicketWorld.com.ph, Mr. Mackintosh and Concertus Manila have released a new set of tickets that will extend performances in Manila until Sunday, April 17, thus far.

London's Barbican Centre recently announced the full lineup for its 'RSC Shakespeare on Screen' film series this January.
