The first group of talent from Television's most celebrated programs have been slated to present the iconic Emmy statuette at the 69th Emmy Awards on September 17.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and TV One, a television network dedicated to the best of black culture and entertainment, today announced that the 49th NAACP Image Awards will be nationally telecast live on TV One on Monday, January 15, 2018, the federal holiday marking the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The two-hour special will also include a live pre-show from the star-studded red carpet.

Freeform, Disney's young adult television and streaming network, adds three series regulars to “grown-ish,” a spin-off of ABC's award-winning hit series “black-ish,” starring breakout star Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, from ABC Signature Studios. The 13-episode, single-camera comedy will start production next month and is set to premiere early 2018 on Freeform and the Freeform App, available on connected TV, mobile devices and online.

ABC received 36 Primetime Emmy nominations this morning, including a second consecutive nomination for critically acclaimed comedy series “black-ish” and Lead Actress Tracee Ellis Ross, as well as a third consecutive nomination for Lead Actor Anthony Anderson.

Williams, the Honorable David N.  Dinkins, 106th mayor of New York, the Honorable Cyrus Vance, New York County district attorney, film and television producers Terence and Rachel Winter, New York Times columnist Charles Blow and DJ Beverly Bond, founder and executive director of Black Girls Rock! The event, which takes place on Thursday, May 11, at Gotham Hall in Manhattan, is expected to draw 500 supporters.
