Acort International, one of the top distributors of independent films in the global marketplace, has recently acquired S.J. Evans' horror film “Dead of the Nite” for international and US distribution. Distribution plans are currently in consideration which will include a North American DVD on the indie-horror label Midnight Releasing and cable/satellite/internet VOD run as well as being showcased at this year's 2013 American Film Market.

'Twilight' Saga star Michael Welch, 'Glee' star Heather Morris, Jennifer Stone ('Wizards of Waverly Place', 'Harriet the Spy'), Constance Zimmer ('Entourage'), Lenny Jacobson & Mackenzie Aladjem from Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie,' Michael J. Willett from 'United States of Tara,' Scott Lowell ('Queer as Folk'), Jenna Leigh Green (Broadway's WICKED, 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch') and Larry Poindexter from MTV's upcoming series 'The Hard Times of RJ Berger' will all be starring in The Blank Theatre Company's Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival. Twelve winning plays by teenaged playwrights, aged 14 -19 from six different states, will be presented by professional actors and directors in the month-long Festival at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood beginning June 3, 2010.

Tony Todd is in Los Angeles on stage for the next two weeks. The vet Broadway actor is this season's villain on Fox's '24' and also known for his 'Candyman' and 'Final Destination' movies. Now he's starring in the stage show 'The Island,' at the Village Theatre inside the Lucy Florence Cultural Center.
'The Island' was devised by South African actors John Kani, Winston Ntshona, and world renowned playwright Athol Fugard. This is Todd's first extended performance on a Los Angeles stage in more than 20 years. Co-starring in the two-man show is Lovensky Jean-Baptiste, who plays Todd's lieutenant on '24.'
