The West End theatre community joined in mourning the sudden loss of Natasha Richardson, who died Wednesday, March 18th at age 45. The BBC reports that theatre venues in London's West End dimmed their lights this evening in tribute to the late Richardson.

Theatres on Broadway dimmed their lights for a minute on Thursday, March 19th in honor of one of its brightest lights, Natasha Richardson, who passed away on Wednesday from head injuries after a skiing accident.

The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in her memory on Thursday, March 19th, at exactly 8:00pm for one minute.

Tony-winning Natasha Richardson, actress, wife, mother, sister and daughter, has passed away at the age of 45. Richardson was at home on the stage and screen, full of bright energy and limitless passion, her star was dimmed too soon.

Eileen Atkins and David Haig will lead the cast in Edward Bond's black and riotous comedy, The Sea, the second production in Jonathan Kent's Haymarket Season. The Sea will run from January 17 -April 19 with press night on January 23, 2008. Designs are by Paul Brown, with lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Groothuis - Kent's long term and regular collaborators who join him for the season.
