The Big Bang, starring award-winning actors Tony Braithwaite and Ben Dibble, returns to the Kimmel Center stage September 14-October 30. Tickets for the return engagement are currently on sale and can be purchased at www.kimmelcenter.org or by calling the box office at 215-893-1999. Talk Backs with the actors will take place after select performances.

Act II Playhouse Extends Art Thru June 12

Act II Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Bud Martin announced that its acclaimed production of the comedy Art has been extended by a week, to June 12.

FIDDLER Leads Barrymore Award Nominations; Ceremony Set for 10/4

The 2010 Barrymore nominees have been announced! Created in 1994, The Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre are the Greater Philadelphia region's only comprehensive theatre awards program, recognizing artists for excellence and innovation while serving to increase awareness of the richness of the local theatre community. The Barrymore Awards are a nationally recognized symbol of excellence for theatre in this region, raising the bar for the work produced by local theatres and individual artists, and generating significant coverage in all the local newspapers and in national trade publications.Each year, over 120 shows produced by the region's professional theatres are reviewed by the Barrymore Voters. At the annual awards presentation each Fall, the Barrymore Awards are presented to honor the community's collective achievement. The cast of the smash hit musical, RESPECT: A MUSICAL JOURNEY OF WOMEN performed 'God Bless America' at a recent Sunday night ESPN-televised Phillies game (the Phillies won!). RESPECT - which originated at Ambler's Act II Playhouse and was moved downtown - has been playing for 16 weeks and is now extended thru June at the Society Hill Playhouse in Philadelphia.
