John Kenley, Legendary Producer Passes Away at 103

Legendary producer, John Kenley, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2009. He was 103. Over 60 years ago, John Kremchek appeared with Martha Graham as a dancer-acrobat in John Murray Anderson's Greenwich Village Follies. Mr Anderson told young Kremchek to change his name to Kenley where it has remained ever since.

Rolex presents 'AMERICA DANCES! Celebrating Our Sparkling Heritage - Broadway, TV & Film'- Career Transition For Dancers' 24th Anniversary Jubilee on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 7:00 pm at New York City Center. Patrick Swayze (1952 - 2009) will be honored posthumously with the 2009 Rolex Dance Award. The Career Transition For Dancers' Awards for Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance will be given to Lawrence Herbert and the Lloyd E. Rigler - Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation. The show will be followed by an 'Anniversary Supper with the Stars' at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced their DuoLogues seminar series season opener, featuring a conversation between celebrated composers Carol Hall and Peter Mills, occurring Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. The conversation will take place at the Dramatists Guild's New York office, in the Frederick Loewe Room. This seminar is free to the public, but reservations are required. To enter the building at 1501 Broadway, you will need to present photo ID.

'Nine' Soundtrack Available in Stores 12/22

The upcoming film adapation of Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit's 'Nine' will be available for purchase beginning December 22nd. The soundtrack, to be released by Geffen Records, will include the full score with the addition of three new songs written specifically for the film, entitled 'Guarda la Luna', 'Cinema Italiano' and 'Take It All'.
