The Broadway at Birdland concert series announces that Broadway stars Karen Mason and Brent Barrett will share the stage for the first time in "Sing Happy" on Monday, April 9 at 7pm.

On June 9th, at the 2012 Tony Eve Cocktail Party the the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre are presented and this year's recipients will be MTI's Freddie Gershon, production supervisor Arthur Siccardi and the Theater Development Fund's Open Doors Arts Education Program.

The Persian Room at the Plaza Hotel itself featured headliners including Liza Minnelli, Dolores Hope, Eartha Kit, Carol Channing, Diahann Carroll, Andy Williams, Lainie Kazan, Patti Page, and the Chairman of the Board/Ole Blue Eyes - Frank Sinatra, not to mention literary icons such as Eloise (courtesy of Hilary Knight). This week, representatives of Persian Room's history from the 1940's to the 1970's gathered to remember, admire and respect its legacy including Marge Champion, Tommy Tune, Barbara Van Orden, Carol Lawrence, Leslie Uggams, Eve Plumb and more to celebrate the launch of Patty Farmer's new book, 'The Persian Room Presents,' released by Vantage Press. Jana Robbins and Craig Haffner will present industry-only staged readings presentations of The Jazz Age, a new play by Allan Knee (FINDING NEVERLAND, LITTLE WOMEN).

Hollywood and Broadway award-winners Kaye Ballard, Liliane Montevecchi, and Lee Roy Reams are to star in "Doin' It For Love," a Broadway-style tribute to the standards and the stories behind the music. Celebrating the finale of its Southwest Tour in Los Angeles on March 9 and 10, "Doin' It For Love" features a 10-piece orchestra conducted onstage by David Geist, the show's music director. Hilary Knight, the internationally renowned artist and illustrator, designed the poster art and collectables for the show. The profits from "Doin' It For Love" will go to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Investigation and Rescue Fund supporting undercover investigations and animal rescue efforts.

Abingdon Theatre Company - which has produced 65 new American plays in its 18-year history - concludes its 2011-2012 Season with the world premiere of LIFELINE, a new play by Frank Tangredi, winner of the 2008 Christopher Brian Wolk Award, set to begin previews March 9, prior to its official press opening March 18, at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Jules Ochoa, who recently helmed HOW I FELL IN LOVE and PHANTOM KILLER, directs.

Goodspeed Musicals just announced that Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth, who appeared as Annie Draper in Goodspeed's production of Strike Up The Band, will be the latest recipient of The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre at its Gala on August 11, 2012. Previous honorees include Julie Andrews, Martin Charnin, Ira Gershwin, Jerry Herman, William Ivey Long, Thomas Meehan, Michael P. Price, Gerald Schoenfeld, Stephen Schwartz, Susan Stroman, Charles Strouse, Tommy Tune and Paul Williams.

Tonight Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers will star in the Alhambra's performance of Broadway's beloved and acclaimed, Hello, Dolly! Ms. Struthers, who's rise to acting fame began with the hit TV show, 'All in the Family', is making her first appearance at the Alhambra and joins a growing list of stars that has recently included Jamie Farr, Barry Williams and Loretta Switt. Hello Dolly was first produced on Broadway in 1964, winning ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) President and CEO John C. Breckenridge announced today TUTS' 2012-2013 Season: From Camelot To Spamalot - A Lot To Love, running October 2012 through June 2013 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. "We're proud to introduce the line-up for our 45th season. From the comedies to the dramas and the family favorites to the reinvented classics, there's going to be a lot to love next season," says Breckenridge.

She is an annual headliner at the Oak Room of New York's Algonquin Hotel and has headlined at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, Lincoln Center, and The Caramoor Festival. She has performed internationally at The Spoleto Festival, The Nouvelle Eve in Paris, The Chichester Festival in England and the Adelaide Festival in Australia.

The longest-running show in Broadway history, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, offered its 10,000th performance yesterday at 2 PM as a special benefit for The Actors Fund.
