45 Houston Area Schools Up for TUTS' 2015 Tommy Tune Awards; Full List Revealed!

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) has announced the show titles for the 45 Houston area high schools participating in the 2015 Tommy Tune Awards. Created by TUTS in 2002, the Tommy Tune Awards recognizes and rewards excellence in the production of musical theatre by high school students and their teachers.

Now, the list is up to 10 theatres, with the Roundabout Theatre Company announcing that its three theatres (The American Airlines, Studio 54 and the Stephen Sondheim Theatre) will dim their lights as well.

Bay Area Cabaret, devoted to presenting audiences with top performers who expand the definition of cabaret, launches its 11th season this fall at the Fairmont San Francisco's historic Venetian Room with an Opening Night Gala celebrating the work of songwriter/composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Pocahontas, Enchanted, Prince of Egypt). The evening will feature two on-stage interviews with Mr. Schwartz by ASCAP's Director of Musical Theatre Michael Kerker, and performances by Saturday Night Live's Ana Gasteyer, who performed the role of 'Elphaba' in Wicked on Broadway, and by two masterful interpreters of Schwartz' work, Liz Callaway and Michael McCorry Rose.
