Byway Entertainment presents Richard Byford's world premiere solo show The Heart of a Gypsy Troubadour, February 13 through April 9, 2015, as part of Whitefire Theatre's SOLOFEST 2015. Ian and Paxton will headline the Sixth Annual Patchogue Folk Festival. Two of America's greatest songwriters will share the stage for an evening of stories and songs at this year's Patchogue Folk Festival. Together, Janis Ian and Tom Paxton are a powerful and irresistible set. Each with ties of the classic Greenwich Village folk scene, Tom Paxton and Janis Ian are nearly a generation apart yet share a slew of folk influences as well as an affinity for fearlessly tackling controversial issues. This Sunday, May 4, 2014, two programs on WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org), Sunday Breakfast and Woody's Children, will honor the memory of Pete Seeger, the day after the folk music legend and activist would have turned 95. Seeger, who wrote or co-wrote classics such as “If I Had a Hammer,” “Turn, Turn, Turn,” and “Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” died on January 27th of this year, just six months after the death of Toshi, his beloved wife of nearly 70 years.

Bay Area Cabaret has announced that due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict, Stacey Kent, originally scheduled to perform on March 15, has been forced to postpone her appearance to next season. In her place, Bay Area Cabaret will present Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter JUDY COLLINS. With a crystalline voice that famously introduced generations to her own interpretations of songs by Joni Mitchell ('Both Sides Now'), The Beatles ('In My Life'), Bob Dylan ('Mr. Tambourine Man') and others in a career that has spanned more than 50 years, Ms. Collins holds a remarkable place in the music lexicon.
