The Public Theater announced today that Alan Cumming, Montego Glover, Gabriel Kahane, Ethan Lipton, Kelli O'Hara, and Benjamin Walker would join the star-studded PUBLIC SINGS! benefit on Monday, March 5 at Joe's Pub. This unforgettable evening will celebrate the rich history of musicals produced by The Public Theater, including HAIR, A Chorus Line, and Caroline, or Change, as well as new musicals in development like February House premiering at The Public this May. Directed by Daisy Prince with musical direction by Chris Fenwick, this one-night-only event will also include the previously announced Laura Benanti, David Byrne, Raul Esparza, Jesse L. Martin, and Steven Pasquale.

AMERICAN IDIOT begins performances in Chicago at the Oriental Theatre February 7 and concludes on February 19.

Bick Goss and Frank Evans, Producing Artistic Directors of Musical Mondays Theater Lab, Inc. today announced their two show February Festival of New Musical Previews: BLING on Thursday, February 2 at 6:30PM and THE SUICIDE, A MUSICAL COMEDY on Thursday, February 9 at 5:30 PM. Both previews of the new musicals will be at the Jerry Orbach Theater in the Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th Street.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) will conclude its 33rd season with the World Premiere of the new musical, DOGFIGHT, featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, a book by Peter Duchan and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Winner of the prestigious 2011 Richards Rodgers Award for Musical Theatre, DOGFIGHT will be performed at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street) this summer. Casting has been announced for the upcoming national tour of Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT, the explosive Broadway hit called "wonderfully raucous" and "emotionally charged" by The New York Times, which will make its Raleigh premiere January 31 - February 5, 2012 at Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced its nominations and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles, Orange County and Ventura County theatre for the year 2011. The 43rd Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, March 19, 2012 at A Noise Within, the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, in its new 33,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art venue in Pasadena, thanks to the generous donation of A Noise Within's management. The theatre is located on the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Sierra Madre Villa Avenue at 3352 East Foothill Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91107. Tickets are $40, and should be reserved in advance from the LADCC's website, at www.ladramacriticscircle.com. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for pre-show hors d'oeuvres (with no-host bar), and the show commences at 7:30 p.m.

The last two shows of Artists Rep's 2011/12 season, Race by David Mamet and Next to Normal by Brian Yorkey, music by Tom Kitt, will switch start dates. This change will allow Associate Artistic Director Jon Kretzu to direct the Broadway-bound It Shoulda Been You by Brian Hargrove, music by Barbara Anselmi, at the Village Theatre near Seattle, where it has its final production before its Broadway premiere this Fall. The show was produced at the George Street Playhouse in New Jersey last Fall and was directed by David Hyde Pierce.
