The ninth season of Bravo's hit franchise, 'Top Chef,' brings something new to the kitchen with a cutting-edge transmedia play sponsored exclusively by Toyota, allowing viewers to follow story lines across multiple platforms.
Go big or go home - that's the motto for season nine of the Emmy and James Beard Award-winning No.1 food show on cable, 'Top Chef,' as it heads to the state that does everything bigger - Texas. Possibly the worst kept locale secret in this moment's culinary universe, the new season of 'Top Chef' will heartily embrace the Lone Star State's adage that all things are bigger as, in a series first, the production will head to three cities within the season - Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. Season nine will also showcase many surprising twists and turns and never-before-seen challenges and events. Returning to the judges table is host Padma Lakshmi and head judge, chef Tom Colicchio, alongside judges Gail Simmons and new this season, famed chef and restaurateur Emeril Lagasse and critically acclaimed chef Hugh Acheson. 'Top Chef: Texas' will air later this fall.
'Top Chef' headjudge Tom Colicchio wants Bravo's Emmy-winning reality series to get the Broadway treatment, according to a recent article in NY Magazine. Andy Cohen revealed at opening night of Broadway's THE NORMAL HEART: 'Tom Colicchio has been pestering me to do Top Chef, The Musical! He thinks he has a great idea about doing something like that ... I told him I'm not so sure, but he's trying to convince me!'
After announcing an unprecedented 11 new series and celebrating a star-studded Upfront event, Bravo's 'Top Chef All-Stars' finale cooked up the highest rated episode of the season with 2.77 million total viewers and 1.95 million adults 18-49. Adding a unique element to the show, last night's season eight finale featured live cut-ins from the network's Upfront events in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Versus the season seven finale (9/15/10), last night's episode was up 9 percent in adults 18-49 (vs. 1.80 million) and 3 percent in total viewers (vs. 2.70 million). The finale ranked as the No. 1 cable program of the day in adults 18-49. For more information, visit www.BravoTV.com and follow us on Twitter at https://twitter.com/BravoPR
