The Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's The Crucible begins tonight, March 1, after moving its original start date to allow star Saoirse Ronan (a Best Actress Oscar nominee for her performance in the film BROOKLYN) to attend the Oscars in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Red Bull Theater today announced that their Twelfth Season will continue with Philip Massinger's The Roman Actor, directed by Louisa Proske, on Monday February 15th at 7:30 PM, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson). Featured in the cast will be Oberon Adjepong, Mamoudou Athie, Tina Benko, Clifton Duncan, Ben Horner, Jennifer Ikeda, Patrick Page, Paul Lazar, Carolyn Smith, Sam Underwood, Adina Verson, and more, with live music performed by percussionist Satoshi Takeishi. Arthur Miller's THE CRUCIBLE will return to Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) this spring. Leading the production are Ben Whishaw (as John Proctor), Sophie Okonedo (as Elizabeth Proctor), Saoirse Ronan (as Abigail Williams), and Ciaran Hinds (as Deputy-Governor Danforth).
